Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I purchased a Pressure Pro system about 5 years ago. Based on the reviews at the time it was the way to go. A very pricey system. Within the first 18 months I had 6 of 10 sensors fail. They were all replaced by pressure pro at no charge even though 2 of the failures occurred out of warranty. Good customer service.
It was at the time and may still be the most expensive system out there. If I was looking for a system today I would probably go with a different system. There are more systems on the market today.
With that said my system has performed flawlessly for the last 3 1/2 years. But for the price I paid I would have expected better than a 60% failure rate.
Bottom line keep asking questions and look for reviews on all the different forums.
We also started with a Pressure Pro system. We also had several sensors fail, and although Harry did get good service each time he called about it, it became a very frustrating cycle. We would have to send the sensor back before they would replace it, and as we were on the road, having the new one mailed to us was a pain. So we ended up buying a Truck Systems Technologies (TST) pressure monitoring system. Haven't had any issues and we actually like it better as it monitors both pressure and temperature of the tires.
Thank you for the feedback, i have been doing research, most of the posts are older post and the way technology changes, left me unsure. I will take a look at the TST system, originally thought I would go with pressure pro, but will take a second look, due to the sensor issue.
We have the TST 510 with sealed batteries. No issues thus far, but time will tell. We don't have the flow thru sensors but in all honesty, we don't have any air leaks either. Our trailer tires have stayed at 110lb for months now. They were last adjusted when the outside temp was in the low 70's with cold tires. The distance from the rear passenger side RV tire to the monitor located on the left side of the truck dash is about 45' straight line. We are not using a booster and have no drop outs.
Looks like a lot of positive feedback on the TST system, I was looking at older posts and back then seemed like Progressive Pro was most popular, glad I put this post out there
Just to add my 2 cents to this. We have had the pressure pro for almost 3 years (July 2012) and have not had any issues with it. I agree with earlier comments though, technology changes so check them all out. We paid around $500 for a 10 sensor system in 2012, I think we got it on E-Bay. I wouldn't go without a system no matter which system you use.
That's my 2 cents worth.

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
I use TST. I had one sensor fail. Called and they sent me a new one. I agree, you should have a TPMS on your rig. I tow a 30' trailer and it is nice to be able to monitor what the tires are doing when traveling down the road. Most new cars have them so why not the trailer. I always check tire pressure before leaving but it is just another sense of security being able to monitor what is happening while traveling down the road. I think the 4 sensor system is about $200-$250.
TST will also help you monitor the tire temperature. A tire running few degrees hotter than the rest can also be an indicator of a bearing failing or a brake dragging as well as a potential bad tire. I really like the TST because of this and also the fact that the monitor is portable so you can take it with you when airing up the tires and prevent the need for constantly checking with a gauge to see where the pressure is.
