Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Any suggestions on campgrounds south of Jackson hole Wy

We are headed to the Tetons this summer and want to know about campgrounds south of there that would be good to stay at. We do not want to stay in the park but maybe an hour south of there.

Campgrounds around Jackson, Tetons and Yellowstone are quite expensive, so just a heads up. Big demand and not a lot of sites so they get the high prices for the lower quality sites. Some BLM land for boondocking. We leave in a couple weeks, and had made reservations clear back in January.
We are doing a combo, some camping in the parks, some outside (West Yellowstone) and some BLM.
Can't really recommend any south of the Tetons. We stay in the park to be closer and not have the minimum hour drive one way.

Speed hitch,

We stayed at the Virginian last summer for a week. The park is located in the town of Jackson and walking distance to several restaurants. It is very pricey along with everything else in the area. If you plan on site seeing in and around the Tetons and Yellowstone area plan on a lot of driving.

We stayed in Jackson as our son and daughter in law flew up to meet us. If I was doing it again I would stay on the west side of Yellowstone. This will make your day trips a little shorter.

No matter where you stay it will be expensive and plan on lengthy day trips.
