Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Winegaurd Traveler AZ motor failure

This morning I could not get the roof mounted antenna to stow. Error was that the AZ motor stalled. I manually got the antenna down so we could move on. My question is how do I get this fixed on the road. I got paper work from Winegaurd but is seems I need to send the unit back. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks: Mark

Mark:

Now that the unit is stowed and the limit switches have been cycled, have you tried raising the antenna again to see if the problem cleared; especially after a reboot of the controller.

In the diagnostic mode you can run the El and Az motors for testing without having the antenna hunt for a satellite.

Sounds like you have already spoken to Winegard tech support and have an equipment RMA based on their findings.  But I just thought I would ask nonetheless.  I’d try that.

Please report back whatever you discover with the process.

Thanks

Bill

Bill: As soon as we get to our site today I will give that a try. We are just south of where the tornados were yesterday so we are rerouting some what today.

Thanks and I will reply with what I find.

Stay safe out there.  We were monitoring that last night with our hearts going out to all in the area – especially around Moore.

Feel free to PM me if you need help with the Diagnostic function.
