Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

A new Lifestyle 38RS will soon be ours!!

Well we finally made the deal on a 2015 Lifestyle 38RS, put the deposit down and go pick it up on May 5th. Our fulltime date isn't until Feb 2018 when I get my golden handshake but I wanted to buy earlier to get the bugs worked out before hitting the road fulltime. Super excited and can't wait to get out in it in May!!! For anybody near Edmonton, Alberta Canada we bought at Trailblazer RV's new shop just on the outskirts of Edmonton. Sales manager Chris Graham is a great guy and we feel he really helped us make this deal in Canada.

I tried 2 other lots here in Canada but they didn't seem too interested in my business(Lifestyle not really well represented here yet) but Chris really wanted to work with us. I envy RV buyers south of the border right now. I contacted Deb Schmucker at Tiara RV in Middlebury Indiana and the final price on a custom order was so close to making us drive 1830 miles one way to buy thru Deb! The Loonie exchange, mileage and holiday schedule really made that the wrong choice for us right now. Whatever, we got a great fifth wheel at a price that felt good and that's all that matters in the end.

Our thanks to all the great info on this site from many people that helped guide us through the decision. It really is a personal choice but it never hurts to read about real life experiences and get some validation. It took me almost 2 years to make the jump so i feel confident it's the right one. Excited to get out there and enjoy the "bad sledding season" or summer no here in northern Alberta.

Cheers

Congrats on your choice. The Lifestyle 38RS and 39FB are both on our shortlist also. Though we won't be buying until 2018 or maybe late 2017 if things work out for us. Tiara RV is just 2 1/2 hours drive from our house as well as the factory... we're planning a tour through Lifestyle and DRV later this year with a detour via Tiara RV Sales, can't wait.smile

Congrats nomorsno. Lifestyle was on our shortlist. We visited the factory and were very impressed. What sent us in a different direction was last fall, when there were many reports and posts referring to the factory not responding to customer complaint contacts. I assume that has changed.
Did you try dealing with the dealer in Salmon Arm? They deal in a couple of high end lines, including Lifestyle. What impressed us was that they had a few units from both manufacturers on their lot. So often dealers don't want to take the time and resources to stock coaches.
We found the Salmon Arm dealer easy to deal with, and were pleased with the delivery process.

Be careful RView Deb gets some incredible numbers from her Lifestyle rep and she was great to work with. You will come home with your rig early! I know she was disappointed we didn't buy from her but I really wanted to buy in Canada if I could.

Camr, I did check out the dealership in Salmon Arm B.C. but only online. Again a 13 hour drive comes into play. Trailblazer is just under 3 hours from home and i see some value in a local dealer, parts, service waits etc. DRV was our next top pick but this one just ticked all the boxes at the right time.

Perhaps we should set up a Canadian RV Dreams get together next year, it seems like there are quite a few that follow from here. Hmmm. blankstare

Mitch says that he will make sure LINDA sees this at this week's rally!  I'm in if it isn't winter-time!!! (AND someone can GUARANTEE the weather!)

Well Mitch I can guarantee there will be weather....... depends on the month! My wife and I were talking about places that would be good for a get together and Trailerking is very close to it. There is a park on the Alberta/Saskatchewan/Montana border called Cypress Hills Inter-Provincial Park that is fairly large and has some amenities. Not too far north for our southern buddies!biggrin Could be a ton of fun.
