Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
When we were out of the country for a month back in October 2011, Terry and Gene graciously volunteered to keep an eye on the Forum and moderate it while we were gone. It was supposed to be a temporary thing, but they were still doing it three and a half years later. Moderating a forum is a pretty thankless job, so we want to take the opportunity to publicly thank them for their efforts, for the responsibility they took on, and for enduring some of the hits that moderators often take along the way.
Thank you so much Terry and Gene!
Now, with Linda & I scaling back on a couple of things, we felt it was time to allow Terry and Gene to untangle themselves from the responsibilities they graciously took on here. We will be the only moderators for awhile and will be checking in on the Forum more often.
We're pretty laid back, but I'm adamant about making sure 1) that this is a friendly, helpful, safe, informative RVing Forum for everyone, and 2) that when a topic is started that it stays on track with the subject matter.
So, while we will be pretty lenient in the Community Chat sub-forum regarding off-topic posts and banter, I'll be checking in to make sure that posts in other sub-forums stay on topic and that they don't get "hi-jacked" with new topics in the middle (usually innocently). That may require modification or deletion of posts that are superfluous, off-topic, or that "hi-jack" a topic (either intentionally or unintentionally). I'll try to send a private message of explanation when I do this, and I'll try to be consistent, but I will probably fail at both from time to time.
If you haven't read our Guidelines & Suggestions or it's been awhile, please read them and stick to them, and the RV-Dreams Community Forum will continue to be one of the friendliest, most helpful RVing Forums on the web.
+5 (what Dave said)! You guys are still the greatest and the mentor to us and many others here. You do a fabulous job on the forum, on your website and at the rallies.

+6 I moderate on another forum (not RV related) and know that it has its own problems. You've been doing it so unobtrusively that I was rarely aware it was even happening. Thanks!
+7! Both couples have been nothing but supportive, by advising and coaching those of us still seeking to go and learning the ropes! Thanks all!

I'd say +11 but I'm out of fingers and toes. Hey, been on here a bit over a year and have no issue with the moderation and have gotten a tremendous amount information. This is the place I would continue to come for RV info. For the other, it would be elsewhere. Just sayin'.
Terry you have done an excellent job in the year I have been with the forum. You were friend as well as moderator and always have valuable contribution to posts and encouraging things to say when folks were struggling. I hope you are still planning on actively participating as I for one need those words of wisdom and encouragement 😄.
Thanks so much.....Trace

I originally thought to not even comment here, but I've changed my mind. For the most part, this has been a great forum for one to moderate because there just really wasn't an awful lot to do. Like any family, there will be contention, but I've been blessed with working with some great people here. It was also a pleasure to do what little I could to help others with options and choices, as well as doing little things like fixing links to other url addresses that others had tried to post.
As for whether we were "laid off" or "quit," I'd have to say that it was a mutual agreement between Howard and Linda and ourselves. While I enjoyed doing the moderation, it is also nice to think that I don't have to get on the forums two or three times a day to check things out.
I must offer Kudos to Howard and Linda for a great forum site and to all the participants of the forums for being great members of a great family.
Terry

Might be, Jack.
Jo's sister and brother-in-law that lived in Canon City sold their home and moved to their daughter's place up near Cripple Creek. So, if we go visit in that direction, we might just stop off and see you and Danielle.
I've just started doing some workkamping here at Mountaindale, and Jo will start whenever she returns from Oklahoma (hopefully, this weekend), so we'll have to work around our schedules.
Terry
