Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Late introducing myself

Hi everyone,

I'm not great at putting into words how I feel but I will have a go at it. My wife and I got our first camper ( fifth wheel ) in 2005 and started weekend camping and on vacations. We were planning to go semi full-time, when I retired 4 1/2 years from now. We traded our fifth wheel in on a used motor home in 2012 in preparation of retirement. We have followed RV Dreams website for a good many years . So on April 8,2014 we signed up on this site and planned to attend one of the upcoming rallies. Then 13 days later the dreaded C word hit us like a runaway freight train. My wife was diagnosed with lung cancer and had metastasized  to the brain,  brain tumor, the day after Easter. She had brain surgery, rehab, chemo, and radiation. She lived 180 days after being diagnosed,  the worst 180 days of my life and still continues. She was my wife, best friend,  soul mate, everything in my life, we were together for 28 years.

Now starts a new chapter in my life, plan on going on a short weekend trip next month  with our dog and see how it goes. It will never be the same, but she said to continue what we loved to do, travel, see the grandkids. It may be a while but I would still like to go to one of the RV Dreams rallies. That's about all I can put in words for now.

Thanks and take care. cry

Hang in there buddy. You've got more friends out here than you can imagine. Come to a rally and we will pick you up and stand by you. If you can't make a rally just post on here and keep us updated, we are with you.

Howdy Howdy Papermaker,

So sorry to hear of your wife's passing. I know that words can never touch the hurt in your heart, but we will remember you in our prayers tonight.

We are happy to have you join the RV Dreams Family. And if I know the folks on this site like I think I do, they will reach out to you with open arms and be-friend you as we have.

You can place your cursor/pointer on another individuals name or handle and read their sign-up information and at least feel that you know them a little better. If you are a mind to, you can go to your own sign-up window and write up a BIO of yourself and tell US what type of work you have done and hobbies or other things you like to do. This will also help the folks get to know you better also. This web site has helped all of us in one way or another and I'm sure you will benefit from the info and relationships you build here on RV Dreams.

Very nice looking MH you have there for your Avitar. What kind is it ?

Keep looking over the next hill.

Welcome aboard Papermaker...

That's a sad story to read. At least you did get a chance to do some traveling and fun outings. Life is short and can be taken by surprise. Hope you find peace in your future endeavors.

So sorry Papermaker to read about your loss, and wouldn't even begin to imagine the emotions you've gone through since that time.  As Red stated though, you do have friends here, and it's such a good support here.  Everyone will lend you the help you need because everyone has their own "special" areas of expertise and connections.  It's really a great place.  Hopefully you'll use this forum as a support through your rough times.  Take care and our prayers go with you.
