Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Still haven't figured out how get us down to that $$$ budget level(from the article). If we can find that cost savings we'll be on the road at least a year sooner. Our best "guess-timate" puts us around $3200/mth in today dollars. But with no real hard info, we're hopefully over-estimating our needs. Still, we are not jealous... just anxious to get rolling. Great post Bill.
Nice article but really no different from hundreds and hundreds of others who are fulltiming. And I don't think any of us are jealous of them - just another full timer out enjoying their retirement.
As to the budget, we've met people who are doing it on $1500/month. Not the way I would want to live, but they were happy. Lots of time the difference in monthly spending is do to whether or not they have health insurance and how often someone moves - longer stays save money on both fuel and park costs.

Doesn't make me jeoulous at all! I spent from the Winter of 2009 to August 2012 when my health put a halt on it. Would have liked to continued on working and camping. Now I'm just grateful to be alive. I live in a 5th wheel in an Rv Park, close to shopping, healthcare, entertainment and most folks are friendly! Have a good running used Ranger truck. My finances are a bit tight. I was just fortunate to have been able to have seen and done what I did before my journey ended! Saving some funds to go see my daughter and grands this Fall in Michigan like I did last Summer to N Y!
It doesn't take a bunch of $$$$$s to make me satisfied, being alive is more precious than Platinum!
