It was...and we did... And it was crowded. Meet several friends, we coulda had both a New Horizons and an RV Dreams rally.

We somehow missed meeting up with Steve (The Junkman), but met up with Neil and Connie, Bill and Linda, Jack Mayer, plus others we know. We spent the later part of our visit helping friends look at smaller Class A motorhomes, since they are planning on buying a house and own a lot at a Class A only resort. There are some OK ones in the 27 to 30' range, but not for fulltimers, but the Winnebago/Itasca looked the best to us all. The 24 and 25' Vegas Class A's are strange (http://vegas-motorhomes.com/) , especially the 24.1 floorplan with the weird shower door.

Ourselves we bought some overpriced food and a Good Sam (Trailer Life) directory. It was a 120 mile one way drive and was worth doing every once in a while. We did find a really good Peruvian restaurant in Sarasota, CeviChef, for dinner.

Yea.. we walked around alot.. before I knew it it was like 4pm..sorry bill. Was alot to see.

I was impressed with the big fifth wheels.. Drv is same ole, same ole.. but the LUXE , and the Redwood, couple others really caught my attention. Very smart interiors. Very cost effective.
New Horizons only had 1 rv there.. list like 250.. over 200k your cost " show special..lol.. weighed 27k loaded.. Could not see the value. It's nice.. Just too expensive for what you get, to me.
Above the frame , all these RV'S look similar. I'm sure one has a wood look.. another is real wood..etc... but they all look the same.
All in all... I went in, thinking to trade my drv, I think it's a piece of crap. I came out with they all are pieces of crap.. and the Drv may be the the best piece of crap for the money, or for what we paid.
I will reevaluate next winter, when I consider to trade to a different fifth wheel or Diesel pusher. So I "settle" for now. Maybe I'll grow to like the drv.. if stuff stops breaking and falling apart.

Drv had the new Toy hauler there.. Glad I didn't force them to give me one. I don't like it. Living area is very tight, and the stuff in the toy area, seems cheesy and cheap.. almost like a afterthought..
Voltage and cyclone haulers seem much better for the money.

Some rv's seems nuts to me.. a airstream for a 100k.. that is small and tight, laminated everything, Very small , tiny tiny pull behinds.. barely big enough for me to sleep in.. sorry, not seeing it.

We bought a pile of stuff. brought home lots of lit. found some campgrounds to vist. Big place. But should be called a "lazy days RV event" versue tampa show.. They must have 3/4 of rv's there.

I went to the Show early Friday morning and looked at a number of the updates and new gadgets.

Liked the LUX, though it was interesting.

Saw a lot of the same ole thing in many units but did see some new and innovative ideas and talked to a number of factory reps which is always intresting.

Lee went and said front windows (which we have) are more common in many models. For someone who is still looking I love my front window, gives us lots of extra sunshine and makes the rig feel more open. They also seem to have improved the living area in many toy hauler models which is a great thing for all our friends who can't live without their toys but still want to FT.

That Luxe is interesting. Noticed on line induction cook top. Is anyone making 110v induction cook tops or are these 220v? Know one can buy 2 burner units but haven't seen 4 burner 110v. I do not like the batten insulation. I will fall and compress. Don't wish to start an argument with DRV owners but I can verify this. I pulled window and drilled access hole for cable. Do like standard I/S suspension with H tires. Find no reference to chassis though. Pictures on line also looked lacking on drawers in bedroom also.

It's moryd suspension .. looked like a I beam frame.. Someone is thinking on the Luxe front.. Lots of good ideas in it..Best I seen.. as a cluster of ideas.. Everyone has a couple or few.. these guys looked the best at the show..Just a little bit more money than drv.. but you seem to be getting much more..
