Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

45' rare Elkhart Traveler I don't want to scrap.

FOR SALE OR TRADE. WAS $20k NOW $10K. HAVE TO MOVE. I purchased this from a dealer in Oklahoma City. It has been pulled across the country 4 times and has spent the last 8 years sitting in the back yard in the heart of Illinois. It is now behind my shop in Bartonville. After purchase it was in Southern Texas for a year and then in Palm Desert California for 3 years then in Las Vegas for 9 years. This was our primary residence up till 8 years ago. We attempted a remodel of the interior, but were not able to complete it due to injuries I sustained in an auto accident. The forward compartment has a place for a generator, but none is included. I did not do a title search to confirm who the original owner was, but we suspected it was Ted Turner of CNN because the door handle had Turner on it, It was originally titled in Florida, it was custom built, and when we started the remodel we discovered the cabinetry had the name Ted Turner written inside of it. We later was told by an ex-employee of Elkhart Traveler that we met at an RV show that he was involved in the sale and building process of this particular trailer and in fact it was purchased by Ted Turner. If interested you can verify this by a title search. This trailer has two opposing hydraulic slide-outs that make the living area the size of a small apartment. Hydraulic slide-outs were not common in the year this was made and the lights on the outside were just getting to be seen on the higher end RVs. The awning is 25' and in addition I have shade cloth for the opposite side of the trailer for the desert heat. It and a front storage cover is stored in the front compartment. The storage cover goes around the lower front of the trailer making sort of a garage to protect outdoor items from the weather. This has a two 12,000 BTU A/Cs with electric heat and a 14,000 BTU gas furnace. It has a 10 Gallon electric and gas water heater. This has a built in kitchen aid center, but we never had the accessories. The sink is full size stainless and it has 4 burner stove and full size microwave with largest RV refrigerator you can get. It has apartment size washer and dryer and shower. The bathroom has porcelain toilet and is plumbed for water softener and filter. The holding tanks are heated for winter temps. It even has a separate ice maker. The original cabinets were Cherrywood and mostly still are. The front area was lowered to accommodate standing in the bedroom which has a queen size bed base, mattress not included, and modified to open for storage. The front stabilizers are electric with manual available in an emergency. It houses two heavy duty marine batteries. More pictures can be found at www.dahome.net/elkhart.htm
