Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Boondocking and BLM Rules

We are planning to do some boondocking in Quartzsite and have some questions and concerns that I know some of you would know the answer to.

There is the 14 day 'Free' BLM areas, and the LTVA areas. We want to stay and visit friends in one of the 14 day areas on the 30th and 31st. I know they will give me a permit good till January 13th. But then I want to go visit a group on Plomosa Road, another 14 day area. The rules say that you can stay in a 14 day area for 14 consecutive days within a 28 day period, then must move at least 25 miles away to stay in another.  Can I purchase a 2 week LTVA permit for $40.00 and go to several of the 14 day areas as well as the LTVA areas?

Any ideas would be groovy.

I know that if you get the seasonal $180 LTVA permit, you can stay in the 14 day areas as much as you want. I do not know if that applies to the $40 permits.

Bill,

So what you are saying is that if you set up in the 14 day area, say like we will be off Plomosa Road with the MOC'ers and we get a LTVA $180 permit we do not have to breakdown right away, if at all? or do you still have to keep moving every 14 days?

I don't know. The guy who told me originally said it allowed him to move between areas where friends were camped and not worry about it being longer than 14 days.
