Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Let me start by saying I read every word ever written in RV-Dreams Journal, and that's a lot!. I could write Howard's and Linda's biographies. It is sad to hear about Howard's mother and all are in my thoughts.
We are a near-retirement couple considering full-time RV’ing. To test this out before we make the plunge, we recently bought a travel trailer and are going to take it on the road and have some fun! We have owned two RVs in the past when our boys were children, but they’re all grown up now. Our plan, or our currently prevailing scenario (there have been many versions), is to vacation camp with our trailer for 2 years, then if all goes well, sell the house, move up to a full-time-capable RV and see the world! The longest trip we have taken in the past with one of our previous RVs was 2 months – with the boys and our golden retriever. We had a blast.
We currently live in the Austin Texas area after moving from California in 2010. We love Texas and have no plans of ever moving back, although we surely will visit when we can. We are Escapee members (115252) and plan to attend some of their rallies. We ‘re going to share our rediscovery of RV’ing in our blog, inspired by the RV-Dreams Journal, and we hope you might take a look.
Welcome Mike...I love that you have a plan and are sticking your toe in the water. We did a bit of that as well and it has helped make the transition smoother for us.
Welcome aboard. As you can see, there a very friendly group of folks 'round these parts.
Our plan doesn't involve testing the "waters", we decided to go "all in" and we are planning that for 2019 approximately. The more research we do, the more the target date gets moved up. Now, hopefully our Josie will take to inflatable kayaking like your Chloe has.
