Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi y'all! We are new owners of a 2005 Holiday Rambler Scepter 40ft and we are hooked to shore power but we have no 12 v internally. Have 110 on all outlets, thinking the converter does not have power but cannot locate the converter to check. Have checked GFI's in bathroom and that is okay. Is there another GFI that we need to locate somewhere. Have searched the manual for clues and solutions with no luck. Anyone have any ideas for this? Thanks for your help in advance!
Look for a battery disconnect switch. Sometimes they are by the door. I once helped someone who accidentally turned it off while trying to turn on a porch light.
GFIs are only for 120 volt.

Inverter is usually close to your batteries. There should also be a disconnect switch for each set of batteries, one for house batteries and one for chassis batteries. Check your salesman switch, usually in the entry. That also turns off 12VDC. If all check out ok then you might need to find the relay for the salesman switch, on our Monaco is was in the compartment under the driver seat.

Thanks bjoyce - The battery disconnect switch was broken so took it out and got it in middle position but now not sure I have the wires connected correctly. This WAS right before the problems began so could definitely be related. Recently had surgery and brain has not been connected properly since. Should have taken a before photo but did not...sorry now. I know that the GFI's are for 120 volt only but it seems that I am not getting 120v to the converter.
Did you find your inverter? If you hooked up the wires backwards you may have popped a break on the inverter or blown a fuse on your inside breaker panel. Our was in the bedroom closet and it handled both A/C and D/C. Fuses for the DC side, circuit breakers for the AC side.
