Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone been/experienced the Chicago area in mid November?
We have a wedding to go to November 2015 and just curious. I doubt we are going down with the motorhome. We are likely going to fly there and back. Just wondering about the weather........Is it usually decent or freezing cold. I understand it's supposed to be the "Windy City".
Livin it. It gets cold here at night, and 30's day time is not uncommon, neither is snow fall. Though neither is all that predictable. Late "Indian summers" have been known to happen with temps in the 60's but its rare. In the northern suburbs there's a better chance for snow. And don't get me started on the wind. It is the Windy City after all. At the lake front, that wind chill is very uncomfortable. Sorry, forgot you need Celcius... 0-5 degrees typical, not unknown to get upto 10-15 centimeters of the white stuff in a single dump, more the further north you get.
Thanks for the reply.....It sure is a lot colder up here. Around -20C
Either way it will be an experience for us as we've never been to Chicago. So we'll see what that's about. Be nicer if they would have had their wedding a couple or three months before Nov 2015.
Oh well...
Well just did our venture in CHICAGO from Nov 11 to Nov 17..............Sure wouldn't be using an awning around there if had my motor home. I have never walked so much area. I know the downtown pretty good now. Walked down to Navy Pier. Did the River Boat cruise (very scenic and informative but was cold and breezy that day). Went up into the TRUMP tower for a snoop Sir Donny could adopt me). Went up in the Han**** building, I think 94th floor, for a 360 degree scenic view(very big). Ate way to much CHICAGO pizza............YUM.
Did you see the Tribune Tower, Trailerking? That one is an architectural gem!

Oh yeah........I seen it and many more............Not to mention I got a brand new Samsung S-5 phone and racked up over 700+ pic's and vid's on it. The problem now is they're way too large of a file with the high resolution and now a hassle to E-Mail any.
Lived in Rockford for 3 years (90 miles west of Chicago) My daughter graduated from Roosevelt University and loves the Windy City. The weather is pretty unpredictable, best to consult weather service. But sounds as if your stay there turned out good for you. pk

A lot of the locals said you can't go by the weather forecasts too much. They say the weather can change in a half hour from what it's supposed to be. The strange thing was when walking around downtown and the wind would pick up a bit, we just figured, "we'll go around this building for shelter"...........Well, didn't always work. Seems even though the buildings are tall and lots of them, they just catch the wind and play games.

I've found that the easiest way is to get back to my computer and download the photos to my laptop. There I can resize the photos and send via e-mail from the computer instead of the phone. Same with any videos, although I don't take many of those.
