Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

100 days

Where did the time go?  I can't believe it's been 100 days (102 actually) since we embarked on this journey of a new lifestyle.

I can't say it's been a lot of FUN, as we had several repairs to make and a dislocated hip to deal with most of the time.  We are currently in our third campground and still trying to learn how to back the rig up!  We haven't done too many touristy things; mostly it's just been living and working in our beautiful home (small, but a perfect size for us), but I enjoy having different scenery to view out the window and when I take my walks.  I'm sure the fun times will come down the road.  But so far I can say I am totally enjoying this lifestyle and looking forward to posting that it's the 1000th day!!!

Some unsolicited suggestions about backing your rig:

--  The next time you move, or since you are in a pull through right now, go to an mostly empty parking lot in a a mall or Walmart, Home Depot, etc and practice your backing.  Maybe paint some 1 gallon water or milk jugs for markers to lay out a parking spot the back into.  Although usually the painted lines work pretty well.

--  Something which helps me, is to place your hand(s) on the bottom of the steering wheel and steer from there.  That way you will move your hand in the exact direction you want the back of the trailer to turn.  Now you don't have to remember that when you move your had to the left the trailer goes to the right!

Hey Cheryl,

Hopefully it's like that bumper sticker - A bad day fishing is better than any good day at work!  (or something like that).  Hopefully the bad isn't that bad.

But congrats on a hundred days.  Oh, the envy!  Is it bad to covet thy neighbor's RV lifestyle?  Look to be there next year.

Happy, better travels.

Cheryl, you and Mitch certainly have had an interesting first 100 days (plus few more now) We have to echo pkhalin's envy sentiment and the support of the rest.  You have had some events to be sure, but remember "that, which doesn't kill you makes you stronger".

So far, you've apparently been upto the challenge. Keep on rockin'smile

I only thought our first 100 days were kind of challenging with a major fridge repair and then being told to evacuate the campground during the flooding in CO last September. I think you have topped us for campfire stories of the first 100 days adventures!!!

Truly hoping you find the next 100 days a little more relaxing and restful than the first 100 as you continue this journey.
