Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Greetings from Cajun Country, we have been reading RV-Dreams for a couple of years now and really enjoy what Howard & Linda have built here. The friendly and good natured culture is truly something to be treasured. We want to offer our gratitude to Howard and Linda, all the moderators and all the RV-Dream community.
So a little about us, we are empty nesters in our mid 50s married with 2 grown daughters and 7 grand kids. I have worked in the oilfield for 35 years with the same company. Honey works in the insurance industry. We have always talked about traveling once we retired but never considered it possible until we were in our mid 60s. We'll that was until we found RV-Dreams. So about a year ago we decided we would sell everything, buy an RV and dive right in. A year later we are rid of most of those things we thought we needed. We are planning to put the house on the market in Oct or November of this year. We still have some work to do but we are getting close. Once the house sales we will buy the RV. We will full time and continue to work through 2015 then retire. We'll thats the plan...... we look forward to meeting all the Dreamers on the road.
Welcome, Honeydeaux! Glad you decided to 'speak up'! You are certainly ahead of the 8 ball as far as getting rid of your stuff! As I'm sure you've already read somewhere on this forum, our plans are made in jello! I highly recommend that you and "Honey" consider attending one or more of the RV rallies hosted by Howard and Linda. You will be surprised how much you don't know, but need to know! These rallies are priceless! Welcome aboard!
Bienvenue mon cher! A fellow Cajun here welcomes you aboard. In 4 years we'll be following you. We've got our truck, just not our full-time trailer just yet - still vacationing in an Aliner, biding our time for now. Hope to see you on the road some day.

Uh, you might want to reconsider. There are seminars at these rallies on buying RVs, as well. Might do you a world of good to attend a rally before the fact. We did, and it certainly paid off for us! You don't need to have an RV to attend. Folks at all stages attend. The information gleaned from these rallies is... PRICELESS! Good luck with your decision.
