Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am thinking of getting a job this winter at the south rim of Grand Canyon and if I get a job was going to live in my RV if possible. Has anyone here ever stayed at the Grand Canyon in the winter time and if so do you have any advice?
Bundle up; get the unit skirted; put some insulating foam painted black facing toward the sun to absorb heat and have a backup electric heater that doesn't get hot on the floor or outside surfaces; like the Amish Style heater or a ceramic one. Some insulation cushions for the roof vents; not the refridgerator and a insukated cover for the AC unless you are using the heat settings that some have.
I used to have a persons blog who worked for one of the concessionairs and he had some great ideas. If I can locate it will post it.

We were there sightseeing in Feb. 2008. Almost didn't make it due to a snowstorm. That night a foot of new snow fell.
Next morning, we rode the train to the canyon, it was a very beautiful trip. Snow on the branches of the trees, the train leaving tracks in the virgin snow.
Once we got to the Grand Canyon Lodge the view of the canyon with snow is something I will never forget.
Due to the snow and ice many of the remote sight seeing sites were inaccessible so we had to stay around the village to sight see. Bundled up in hats, gloves, boots and heavy jackets very blustery.
You'll have quite an adventure. Good Luck.
