Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

First day for work camping

So, we are here at Lake Fork, Alba, Texas for the work camping job - for DH really. His first day off to 'work' since he semi-retired in June - and is he ever ready! He left 20 minutes early with the golf cart provided to him - for a 2 minute commute, LOL. The golf cart is temperamental and quits if it doesn't like a bump - on the way to work- it quit and would not be convinced to go again. evileye So, DH walked back to camp and took the Jeep.

He will be working 20 hours in exchange for the site here (including electric!). I will be looking for a job aww

Happy Journey's RV Dreamers!

Linda: I have fond memories of traveling and work camping. It would be a "dream" if I could handle it again; I was doing labor type jobs. The heat and humidity drains the little energy I have left. And still have to keep close contact with the VA doctors appts; I found good ones where I'm at. A job will soon come your way as long as you actively pursue it.

Happy First Day to him! NEW is always exciting. Sounds like you plan to be in the area for a while? We parked in Tanglewood RV park (near Winston-Salem, NC) in July and they were hiring another host. Very minimal work! John was interested, we're not settled enough for that yet:)

Happy job hunting:)

Be careful.

This work camping thing can get addictive if you find a job you really like.

(From some long term work campers and having a great time!)

Hope you are surviving the heat wave and hope the work-camping job turns out great! Agree with Cori, the golf cart is super cute :)

Any luck finding nursing work? I know the flu shot companies are hiring for the fall season. With 6 month there you should be able to get some prn work...Keep us posted.

Congrats Linda and Scott! Tell Scott not to catch all the crappie in Lake Fork. Hopefully I'll be there next spring to catch my share.

Workamping at the right place can be awesome! Understand Scott's excitement and they are luck to have him. Good luck Linda, sure you'll find a job soon!

Thanks everybody. I had an interview at a local hospital and I've done a bunch of applying for jobs. It will all work out I'm sure - it sure is an adjustment.
