Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

FT living warranty?

Can anyone tell me if Keystone's Montana is warrantied for FT use?  It appears from their website that their Big Sky is, but I'm not even sure about that. We want to stick with brands that have a written warranty that does NOT exclude FT living.  We are checking out both high end and mid-level units as far as budget is concerned.  Any suggestions or comments would be welcomed!

When we went to an RV show in OKC in March, we looked at a Bighorn and were told by the salesman that Bighorn had gone to full-time warranties for their new models. We also noticed a sign in the Open Range we bought from that show and the spokeswoman said the same......BUT......I have yet to see anything about it in our Open Range stuff or their website now. I do know however that Open Range is pretty good about doing warranty work during the warranty period knowing that you may full-time in it. Basically, they don't void it for that reason necessarily, but they don't really advertise it. I am on their owners forum and everyone has had wonderful experience with that being the case. We never really looked anymore into Bighorn (it's by Heartland) so I'm not sure if they have any more literature on it on their website. Hope this helps some. And good luck with the search. It's half the fun. Loved looking at everything that was out there....but would never think twice about what we ended up with. Love it!!

We just traded our 2011 Montana 3580 rl for our new 2015 Montana 3610 RL. It is designed and made for full time use. Their warranties cover full time use. We love our Montana and feel for the price point you get a great rig. Good luck with your search. Les

If they only last the time of warranty that not good. I would not base this on the unit I would buy. I would look at the chassis, the framing, woodwork, insulation, etc. Artificial wood will not look good long. After then you can't refinish it. I went in lots of mass produced units before buying my Teton and most the floors flexed, felt soft. Most looked artificial. You are not going to buy a solid wood, good solid chassis, etc in a light weight unit. My Teton weighed over 17,000 dry. It is 39' in length. Has oak cabinets, oak trim, residential appliances where practical. Has 161/4" of I beam and Tube steel chassis. Such as this is what you want in full time unit. Quality does come at a premium price too. Used quality units are less money. i only gave 30,000 for our Teton this year.
