Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

First Year Anniversary for the Ranger's

Time flies by quickly.  We've just completed our first year of travels.  We've made it about 2/3 of the way around the USA and turned West on the 8th of July heading back to Washington state.  Another 3,000 miles and we will be back for a short visit and than will begin again.

As everyone else mentions, we had our concerns about how we would like our new lifestyle.  I can now say that it is even better than we had dreamed.  We laugh and say, "This will go on for many more years."   We've learned a bunch of lessons along the way and we are now much better at this fulltiming thing.

I still read this forum daily but life is so busy I find that there isn't as much time to write.  It's hard work having this much adventure.  Can I say again that we are loving RV'ing?  Life is very good.

Thank you's go out to Howard and Linda for the leadership and inspiration this site provided in our planning.  Also "Thank You" to all who contribute to this forum.  It is a very real tool that led us to our dream.

We look forward to many more year of RV'ing.

LOL, right behind you on the one year mark, and totally agree with the thanks to Howard and Linda!! I don't know how you covered 2/3 of the US, we thought we were doing great to get to 14 states in the Western US. I guess we're all finding our own adventure in our own time, isn't this a great lifestyle??? LOVE IT!!

BTW, if you just turned west, wave at us as we head east!! We're on Whidbey Island now, Sequim next week, back to south Puget sound for a few days and then east to Idaho!! OK, that's about the furthest east we'll make it in the next 6 months as we then turn south to CA for a while , then AZ for the winter. Our goal is to travel a lot less and a lot slower this year:)

Russ,

Personally, I don't think I'd be taking in the country quite so fast, but we all have our own reasons for where we go and why.  The main thing is that the two of you are having a good time.  I can probably speak for the RV Dreams "family" in wishing you continued good times.

Ruth,

Just a quick question.  When will you be in Idaho and where.  It looks like we will be driving to the Boise/Mountain Home area later this year and wondered how close we might be to each other.  I'd say we will be up there sometime in late August or September.

Terry

Hey Russ, we passed our 1 year mark as well & know we were right behind you when we were in Benson, AZ. We're East (Pa) and heading S and then back West. We're racking up those state stickers as fast as you are.

Travel safely,
Sherry

Terry - we'll be heading south from Couer d'Alene on Aug 25 to McCall ID for 3 days, then to Boise ID for just a couple of days. I am on vacation that week, so will have free time for an entire week, can't wait!!

Labor Day weekend we head to Lake Tahoe. Let us know if you are going to be in the area, love to catch up with you and Jo.

In our first full time year on the road, we stayed the night in 46 states. The two we missed, California and Wyoming, we had camped in as part timers. It was crazy, but we are glad we did it.

The big reason for our cross country travels was grandkids.  We have grandkids in Washington DC.  My son is an Air Force Master Sargent assigned to the NSA as a computer hacker.  His next assignment will be to NATO in Brussels, Belgium.  They move to Europe in the Fall so we needed to see them before they left.

Now if I can make the RV float we can be off to visit on the other side of the pond.  My wife says we are flying over in 2016.  I want to travel via small canal boats, just like an RV but skinny.  There is a whole tourist industry based around rental canal boats and Europe is laced with canals.

An RV with Port and Starboard.  Cool.
