Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

looking for a place to park near Albuquerque, NM

Full timing family of 3 looking for a place to park a 32' single slide out travel trailer for a few months. Can pay a lil' space rent and our utilities (or our share of them). We are cash-strapped but rich in spirit and skills with which to barter/trade for space rent. Don't wanna be a burden on anyone or leave a new friend w/a sour taste in the mouth, just having a tough time and am looking for a friend of the faith to lend us a hand (up that is, not look'n for any hand-outs). We have chickens that produce good eggs that we are willing to share, a container garden(if you like fresh veggies), a couple of lovely dogs that really think they are children, a mated pair of bunnies and their first new-born kit, we bake like nothing else and can cook anything that stands still long enough (specializing in southern soul food, Carolina BBQ, and New Mexican mestizo cuisine but my spaetzle & shnitzle is pretty danged good too) for upwards ot 200 people. We are more than proficient in housekeeping, laundry services, lawn care and basic landscaping, interior & exterior painting and basic maintenance (structural &/or mechanical) as well as basic butchering and food preservation (I even have my own pressure canner). My daughter is quite good at machine sewing (can even make a Star Quilt) and is growing her crocheting skills. My son is strong, works well with others, take direction well and is diligent in his work (the daughter is too but not as strong or as accustomed to hard labor as my son). We need to be able to keep our animals yet be within a reasonably commutable range to Albuquerque, NM. Please feel free to contact me, Dixie, at monkeyfoot4life@gmail.com if you have an offer or any leads that could help us out.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to read our post.

Good day & Gods blessings. smile

Wouldn't expect to much of anything find anything in Albuquerque proper but may find something in the Southeast around NM35 area or the outer areas of Rio Rancho but these are pretty much on the Mesa.  Better chance of meeting you needs in Los Lunas, Belen, Edgewood, or Bernalillo kind of the suburbs of Abq with quite a bit of small garden farm etc.

Good luck with finding something that works for you.  Lived in the desert for 55 years and only visit for the last 10 years.

Thanks for the advice. I'm open to such areas. Am totally without wheels so gotta be fairly proximate to at least a park-n-ride or within bicycling distance to a rail-runner. Am hoping for more like RR, Corrales, etc (whatever's fairly close in- am even willing to do a commune/co-op situation or to be short-term tenant farm hands) but beggars can't be choosers & I'm trusting God and the Universe to provide. If anyone in these areas is open to such an urban/suburban short-term tenant farm-hand/co-op/share-cropping relationship I'm hoping to find someone as laid back yet open, honest & trustworthy as I am & as into helping other travelers along life's many roads as we are. Our family is in a time of transition & we're looking to find a bit of a harbor during the storm but are totally down for earning our keep and paying what we can. Much obliged for the encouragement. Peace-
