Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

SD Mail services

Is there a mail forwarding service in South Dakota that uses modern electronic systems where you can see all of your mail online? I know if Florida, you can see scans of each piece of mail and check trash, send, open and scan, etc. It seems that the SD services are pretty much going to be telephone or email transactions. Somewhat behind the times, no?

I don't think that all Florida mail services provide that service, but if that's really important to you, you'd better go with the one you found.

Of course that means that you'll be using Florida for your state of residence if you are full-timing. That's not bad, but there are some benefits of using SD.

I was trying to figure the cost of registering and insuring the RV and truck in Florida and South Dakota and the difference is amazing. The truck insurance is nearly double although the RV insurance is not much different. Anyway, I think I need to go with SD.

The only mail service I have ever used is Mydakotaaddress.com - we were presented with different levels of service. I don't remember them all....but I do know that I get a daily email informing me what mail I received each day. I have called Terri (owner) and requested more than a few times that she scan and email me a copy of a that piece of mail - sometimes I just ask her to open my mail and tell me what it IS or ISN'T (yes I trust her that much)...lol

I can only tell your about St. Brendan's Isle Mail Service out of green Cove Springs, FL
They scan the front of each piece of mail you receive, that scan is available via there web site daily. You then have four choices, Hold (for later shipping), Send now, Shred, or Scan. I think they charge $.50 for each page of the mail scanned and then emailed to you. In the almost two years we have used them we have only had to use the scan feature once.
Check the ones in SD and make sure they don't do the same. It may be an optional service.

I guess I'm too much a geek! Hopefully, my mail will be next to nothing and I won't need the hi-tech stuff!
Selah, St. Brendan's Isle Mail Service was the one I was referring to. Seems like a good system.
Thanks y'all!

After we were on the road for a while and got electronic banking and bill pay set up we found that we really didn't need to get our mail more than every two weeks or so. Some friends only get theirs once a month.
You may find that the scanning option won't be all that important to you.
