Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The inspection was done on the cow & bull (see "did you name your rig" thread) and other than a few things wrong, which are normal wear & tear issues, like needing to reseal the rubber roof and replace the brake pads), it's in pretty good condition, that I feel safe enough to buy it.
It's a DRV Mobile Suites 36TKBS3 pulled by a custom Ford F550.
Hope to be picking it up in a little over a week, assuming the house closes as scheduled on June 5th!

Oh, and a family member commented on our picture with THIS great clip
That is fantastic Cheryl...never seen a truck like that before but Lee was explaining it to me. Very cool my friend and a long time coming...you definitely get the perseverance award :). Whenever I start to feel a little sorry for myself I think about how you have fought for this over the last year. Good for you honey.
Congratulations to both of you! You'll be out there before you know it!! Where are you headed to?
The cow & bull are located in St. Cloud, FL (near Orlando). After we close, we are going to drive down there, with a stop over the weekend to visit our daughter & her hubby in Raleigh, NC (we're packing up all Mitch's work tools and the personal belongings we need in our minivan, which we will sell or donate down there). After the purchase (we can stay on the owner's RV pad until we get used to it) we have a few things to take care of down there regarding the domicile and DMV, and 3 relatives to visit. We need to be back in NJ by the middle of August, so we'll slowly work our way back north. When we leave the NY/NJ area, we're heading up to Goshen, IN for the rally. Then back down to NC to spend the rest of the fall; maybe even stay there til New Years. Who knows? That's what's so nice about this lifestyle - we can be flexible. Haven't figured out where we want to spend the winter yet. Leaning towards FL, but I hate the humidity. Maybe AZ or NM? That's a little too far down the road to plan right now.
How about you?

I think I may follow cheryl's lead, and go wherever she decides... My dispatcher should be giving me advance notice of where my gigs will be...and she promises to go where the $$$ is...

Cheryl & Mitch, the F550 should be a great truck to tow this size unit with. Just double check the service record as the 6.0L engine is known for having some serious issues. If it has a clean service record then it is probably one of the good ones that will not have any issues. We have had two 6.0L engines, one in '03 that was nothing but problems and then an '06 that we still have with no problems beyond normal wear items. Best of luck on your purchase, it is a great looking rig!

Cheryl and her other half,
Sounds like after a LOT of searching that you have found the set up for you. Be sue to have liquid $ for repairs/problems. Not suggesting you will have, just speaking from experience here.

Absolutely - that's the plan! That's one of the reasons we chose to buy used. We could potentially buy new, top of the line if we used ALL the funds from the sale of the house, but we decided to have some $ liquid for repairs and emergencies, as well as enough to live on for at least a year, while we try to stablize our jobs (I'm still building my client base, and although Mitch is confident he can find gigs wherever we are, it's not something that has been tested or proven yet).
Thanks for the advice and watching out for us!
