Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Dumb things we do!

So yesterday we arrived at our campground after getting our coach (borrowing Terry's word here) out of the body shop and a certain someone dropped a set keys down our Techma toilet. Jesse knew if we flushed it they might kill the Macerator feature. After 3 hours and borrowing a shorter ratchet from a nice neighbor and removing liquids with a now thrown out turkey baster we - mostly my Hero Jesse - took it all apart and rescued the keys! It's back together and works perfectly. Guess if you're going to dump keys the Techma is the one to do it in. Of course if we had just a regular rv toilet we could have just had new keys made!

Then he had to fix the refrigerator door which wasn't closing tightly. He sure earned his beer and good homemade dinner last night.

Might I suggest he leaves his keys on a hook by the door from now on? We certainly learned a lesson from you guys!

One thing I learned early on, don't open the toilet lid until all bathroom cabinets are closed & you have nothing in your hands, & maybe empty your pockets too!  biggrin

Sherry, i dont know what the insides of a macerator look like, ours isnt a macerator, could you have gotten the keys with a magnet? Just thinking that could have prevented basted meat being suspect at your house from now on.

Sherry,

I refer to the RV as a coach because it is SO MUCH MORE than just a camper.  Our last camper was a 26-footer and didn't have near as many nice features as well as storage space, both inside and outside.  We were at a Suites Owners International Travel Club rally when one of the participants straightened me out on what to call the Mobile Suites.  After all, it is our home, although in some people's case only for a short time, so I would say that if we "live" in it long enough, it should be called a coach.

MarkS, We tried magnets, a flexible wire with a hook on the end and no luck. The magnets got thrown out with the baster!

So today Jesse took apart the refrigerator/freezer. We've been having problems with it not closing correctly but he "got 'er done"! Not easy with his hands these days but a great sense of accomplishment!

Last night we had a great dinner with Bill and Linda! We meet such great people on here!
