Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Two other steps toward FT, last thursday I sold my 2010 Chevy Camaro it was almost knew only 15,000 km.  Another major step in my life, as of today I'm officially retired from the RCMP.  Last part of the house to be done is the family room in the basement and start to purge the stuff that we won't need, this is another story!!!!! after 4 houses it is amazing how much things you keep in case of....

Good Luck to all the 2014 new FT, I wish you fun and good luck along your travel.

Jean

Sounds great!  I was just wondering where you two were in your process.  With each step, you're that much closer!

Thanks everyone a lot to do but we will make it one step at a time, like I said FT is a way of living that we've start planning 20 years ago so we won't hurry for a couple months. One thing is for sure is that we are getting closer each day.

Congrats on your retirement...no more alarm clock! We also planned this lifestyle for a very long time...27 years.

Good luck with your plans!

2 huge steps for sure. Congrats!!! We found that getting ready was part of the fun. Even though it may not have seemed like it at the time.

Well for the retirement status I think I gave enough 5 years as a paramedic and 26 as a cop and over 25 as a volunteer in hockey and baseball minor leagues. I'm still young and in good shape, I'm not the type to sit and relax but I intend to do what and when I want. Pleasure won't be a luxury but a daily priority. Few years ago some people were telling me that I was crazy of wanting to live such a lifestyle, now that I'm getting closer those same people are telling me that they will be happy to come and visit where I will be at. In our case it will be like the advertise Freedom 55.

Congratulations. That final purging is the very hardest part but your excitement will keep you going. I know many of us were exhausted when we first got on the road. Some of us were smarter and planned ahead better but that wasn't us! 😄

Mike it won't killed me to retire at 51 but I understand your point. There is so many things to do in life that I will take my time to find something different. Something that I will be able to take the time to breath without being under pressure constantly. Like I said I've been planning this moment for so long you can't imagine and I want to live the dream before any disease arise that would stop me. At 50 you don't have the same energy like in your 20s, so I can imagine the comparison between 70 & 50.

Bt the way I already made a list of small job I could handle, the first one on the list is to offer my service at the beach to put sun screen lotion...loll massage optional..................... I would only have to convince the wife!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Jo & Ben I wish it would be tomorrow but there is less waiting time in front of us then the years we've been waiting. Many years ago while I was a paramedic I attended a call. The couple was in their last preparation to hit the road in their motorhome, while packing the last stuff the husband was so exited that his hearth beat when up at a high rate. His wife called 911 has she thaught her husband was having a cardiac failure. The funniest part is their house would be destroyed to make place for bank, several years later circumstances wanted that I bought a House in the same area and the bank became my branch. I don't know what happened to the couple but they were in their departure for FT living. Again like I said we've been planning this moment for so long that I will keep in mind this story, I think I will have to calm down.... I think for us FT living is a way to close the loop of life, in fact I meet my wife on a campground while our parents were camping, in june we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, so I think the worst is behind us lol......
