Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Please help! Need idea to keep birds out!

We are stationary for a few months and birds are making nests in the tongue Of the 5th wheel!  Any ideas on how to keep them out?

Put a cat in the pin box......LOL

Stuff it with a piece of cardboard to block the opening. Or form a piece of wire mesh to fit in the opening that can be removed when hitching up.

Or mount a wireless camera and watch the little birdies go from eggs to hatchlings.

Wire mesh is a good idea. If it doesn't work, will try the cat! :)

When I had that problem, I fashioned a piece of cardboard that enclosed the opening of the pin box. It worked. The bigger problem was pigeons trying to nest between the slide roof and the slide topper. Once they go in there, nothing will keep them out. After that incident (I had to move the trailer to another park to get rid of the pigeons) I was told to keep moth balls up there so pigeons would not try to nest there. I have done that....don't know if it works but no more pigeons.

Tried moth balls with cats one time when they decided my flower box under LR window in S&B was a litter box. Sadly, didn't work Thankfully haven't seen pigeons here!

Yeah.  I know.  The neighbors probably don't like loud noises either.

Lets hope some other neighbors don't end up with a a hard rain, i.e., the shot coming down and hitting something. Firecrackers would be better.

The rubber snakes do work.  We have a problem with pea****s sitting on the cars.  Put rubber snakes out and they will not go near them.

I put strips of sheet metal on the openings. Painted it with Rubber undercoating looks and works great.

www.youtube.com/watch made a video of it..

I use a bag with Magnets to hold my wires now.

Cord BagBag on

Thanks and God Bless
