Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I looked through the search and didn't see anything recent about the Husky Hitch.  Any thoughts on this hitch?  It would be a Husky 16K for an empty 12K 5er.

We had a Husky 16K Hitch for 10 years.
It was an Ok Hitch but now that we are Fulltiming and travel quite a bit, I noticed a lot of movement / clunking in our hitch.
It was showing quite a bit of wear and tear.
We replaced it with a Curt Hitch, I like the Curt much better than the Husky, better design, 10 Year Warranty, much better / smoother pulling than the Husky ever was and decent price.
We got a Curt Q24 from Amazon for a little over $500 with free shipping.
The Q24 is overkill for us as our dry weight was about 13,000 lbs actual loaded weight is about 15,700 lbs., but it is a well built, strong hitch that should last us for many years of service.

We have a 24K Husky hitch with a double pivoting head (side to side, and front to back) and it's the same one we started out with 9 years ago.  I'm not a fan of any "static" hitch, but the double pivoting head combined with our Mor/ryde pin box makes towing (and hitching/unhitching) a breeze.  I'm sure there have been some design changes over the years, so I can't vouch for whether or not those changes were actually improvements.  smile
