Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The RV-Dreams Community Forum is becoming more and more popular, and it's popping up in search engines more and more as our wonderful group posts more and more topics and provides more and more great answers to RVing-related questions. We are quite proud of this Forum and our members.
As our popularity grows, we are picking up new members that have frequented other RV Forums for years. We welcome all of you!
However, we want to make sure everyone knows we do things a little differently here as far as the tone and how we interact with each other.
Here, we don't tolerate the rudeness and snarkiness that is allowed in other forums. And though we encourage differences in ideas and opinions, we try to make sure those differences are expressed in ways that are diplomatic and respectful of each other. We all have natural reactions and judgments about things we see and read, and we all come from very diverse backgrounds with diverse values. So, what we ask of our members is simply to be polite, positive, and thoughtful in the way views are expressed and to keep judgments that add no value out of the conversation.
To be sure, we understand there is a level of over-sensitivity in our society, and there are people that are offended by everything. But we promote this Forum as a safe place, and while we can't expect to keep every person from ever being offended, we can do a lot better than several of the other forums out there, and our goal is simply to be the best AND friendliest RV Forum on the web.
Thanks for coming and for helping us continue to strive for that goal.
P.S. If you don't think you can adhere to our higher standards, we'd prefer you just view the Forum and not become a member. If you do become a member and expect to behave in a way we don't condone, understand that we may send you a gentle reminder, or we may ask you to leave, or we may just delete your account without notice.
We truly are the best rv forum. I love it here. Having spent a short time on a couple others, I came running home in a hurry! The information is so helpful and the light-hearted banter is entertaining, but for me it is the honest caring that happens here. In the truest sense of community, the RVD forum members give from the heart.
You and Linda opened up your life and dreams in your daily journals and from those seeds grew this wonderful forum of like-minded dreamers. From the veterans who we all want to be when we grow up, to the brand new members who remind us of the thrill of our beginnings - we are here because you built us this wonderful safe haven.
We all owe it to you and Linda to maintain the expectations of diplomacy and respectful interaction that you have established. We owe it to each other to keep the dream alive.
Thank you for this space, Howard and Linda. This is the only RVing forum I will regularly participate in - simply because it has always been a friendly and supportive place.
this is the only Forum I,m a member of........as I peruse thru the others they just seem to upper class and non accepting of someone for who they are rather than the coach they possess.
good group of family here that really cares more about one another!!

We too are fairly new to forums and have looked at many. Now, this is the only one we participate in for all the reasons mentioned above. Thank you Howard and Linda!

Jodee You warmed and touched my old beat-up-HEART. As you hit on my feelings exactly! Howard and Linda got his forum spot on! People here come to our rescue; whether it is for comforting words needed when unfortunate events happen to one; info on RV's; travel; good old-fashioned fun or some off-beat humor! As I mentioned before; this is the best RV forum and has the bestest caring members on the internet!!!

Yes, Thank you Jodee and everyone else for your wonderful comments. We didn't expect this to turn into a "thread", but we've certainly been touched by it as I wrote in the Journal yesterday.
Uh-oh, it only took three posts from me to draw Howard out and straighten me up. If I promise to behave going forward can I stay? Just kidding, looking forward to becoming more active.
As they say....First impression has been a GREAT impression. What a wonderful place to chat with friendly folks to have Like Interests when it come to RVing across the country. Looking VERY forward to becoming involved. To think...my wife and I have not even purchased our Tow Vehicle and 5th wheel trailer yet! But, like Howard said in RV-Dreamers.com.....it's starts with research, research, & more research. So, this is our first step. I want to be able to ask loads of questions and I am going to enjoy the pleasant interaction with all of you.
I'm pretty sure I know what prompted this ... and I appreciate that Howard stepped in, without calling anyone out, to provide clarification and boundaries, which were needed. I, like others here, appreciate the civil nature of our discussions ... this has been our "go to" board since day one ... heck, this created day one ... we remain loyal and grateful.
