Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

New Here But Not New To RVing

Hello All from Beautiful British Columbia.

We just sold our Dynasty and are currently on the search for our next "New to Us" coach.

We aren't retired, but enjoy the Class A DP way of "Glamping" on spare weekends and holidays.

Welcome aboard. Is the District of Columbia a suburb of British Columbia? You can have it if you want it!

My mother-in-law just sold her 40' (12.76 meters) tag axle Dynasty for a 33' (10.6 meter) gas powered Winnebago Sightseer. She is amazed at how much she likes it, including driving it up mountains.

We just put a deposit on a 2001 Beaver Montecello 40' DP. 330 CAT with 37,542 miles. Really nice shape.

Can't go get it till I renew my passport. Duh!

Where'd you get that Dogpatch? Dealer? Private Sale?
What was the particulars on your Dynasty? How much did it go for? Looked like a nice rig(if that's it in your sig).
........and Oh, welcome aboard Ol' Dog.

I found the Beaver originally on eBay and contacted the dealer and made an offer. Still in the deciding stage going through emails on questions I have and asking for photos.

The Dynasty just left my driveway last night. It was a 40' Dynasty King Suite. Single slide. 94,000 miles on it. New owner from the Coast bought it. Let's just say I bought the Dynasty right and did good on the sale. The Dynasty felt like it was rode hard and put away wet. I had no records with it. The previous owner drove a lot in salt in the winter so lots of rust underneath. Just not something I wanted to own for long.

The picture in my Avatar is the Beaver. I'm pretty much resolved to go get it. I accidentally let my passport lapse so I get my new one this week. Then plan the flight and time off from work to go and drive it back. The Beaver only has 37,542 miles on it. Has had some upgrades. I like that it has the Girard awning. Full body paint. Double slides. Hydro hot heating. My wife likes that it has a bathtub as well as a center entry door instead of the front entry.

As soon as I figure out how to get pictures on here, I'll post them.

Les,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  I don't know how long you might have "lurked" before registering, but if it is a short time, you'll find the folks here to be very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and encouraging.  Glad to have you as part of the "family."

As for posting pictures, below is a link to a thread that I created just for that purpose.  The instructions are based on using Photobucket, but a lot of free photo hosting sites would be similar.  The main thing to watch out for is that your photos are not too large when you post them to the photo hosting sites.  If they are too big, they force the forum pages to be extremely wide.  That forces everyone to scroll left and right, just to read the text, plus all of your photos may not "fit" to where they are fully visible.

Guidelines Regarding Embedding Photos into Forum Posts
