Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My name is Jan and I am from the Milwaukee WI area. I am currently working but getting close to that much anticipated retirement age. I am very serious about buying an RV and becoming a full-timer. I have wandered around the western part of the US camping with my children...and by myself...and loved most all of it. I am ready to graduate to more comfortable accommodations though. I have signed up to attend the Fall 2014 Rally in Goshen, IN to absorb as much information as I can on FT to make sure I am making a sound decision. I am interested in workcamping or volunteering as I go along discovering more about myself. I look forward to possibly meeting many of you either at the Rally or on the road...when I am finally there!
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You have definitely found a good source for information and attending the rally and getting to see the various types of RV's would be a definite benefit for you. You could get a better idea of what others are using and why.
In the meantime, check out as many RV shows or RV dealerships as possible. I recommend taking pictures with a digital camera. First, take a picture showing the brand name of the RV, followed by a picture of that particular model number. Then follow those two pictures with all the pictures of the interior and exterior that you take. That way, there is less confusion as to "what did I see in such-and-such model RV?"
Ask away with questions. The only "dumb" questions are those that aren't asked and thus one makes expensive and time consuming mistakes.
Good luck.
Terry

Jan,
Welcome to the forum. I learn so much every day from everyone on here. The few times I asked questions I received so many answers. I truly think there is not a better bunch of people out there!
