Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We're in the same park we've been in for 3 weeks, but this week is remarkably different, it's spring break in Texas!!!  3 weeks of mostly snowbirds or full timers and over the weekend the entire complexion of the campground changed with families, kids, more kids, lots of dogs, huge increase in noise level and every site is full, some with multiple families/tents, etc.

Oh yes, I can remember spring break campouts when our daughter was still school age, although we usually went further south in TX where it was likely to be a little warmer.  I must say, I don't remember being quite so amused by all of it then. 

Watching the antics of a family trying to "help" Dad back up a tent trailer and then set it up, taking 3 hours to do was with lots of gestures, shouting, etc. provided this morning's entertainment.  Then the family with 6 kids pulling in with 2 minivans, setting up 3 tents and the kids scattering to leave all the work to Dad & Mom resulting in lots of parental scolding and the proverbial "I'm going to count to 3" to get them all marching in the same direction (thank goodness it wasn't a count to 10!).  Then the Toy Hauler that just backed in "next door", I really didn't know a TH could hold that much "stuff"!  They've been unloading for 45 minutes and are still pulling stuff out of it, amazing!!

So my day that has been filled with conference calls for work has proven to be highly entertaining as I sit here and watch out the windows.  Just wondering how much entertainment we provided when we were the occasional campers who tried to squeeze every minute of fun out of a camping getaway. 

Now, just think, next week we're headed to Oklahoma for our grandtwins spring break, we've been told that we don't provide much amusement these days when getting into a spot.  Guess it's our turn to join the crowd that provides the amusement of family camping, wonder if I can yell real loud and wave my arms in no discernable pattern as we're backing into our site???   LOL!!  And I'm sure the Grandtwins will provide all the kid amusement we need to have a good time.

Those were the days, eh? Actually, all that time we camped with our 4 kids in our pop-up, we all did quite well. All the kids had their own "chores" they did to help set-up and tear down. Most of the time all went well. But I can remember certain times like when we were camping in the Rockies in CO, the kids found that fresh elk turds stuck amazingly well to shirts when thrown hard enough. Of course, this was NOT done in the campground or around others. We always tried to be good campers. Hands and clothes can always be washed. Our kids were always good at keeping themselves busy and amused in sometimes interesting ways.

It is so relaxing to watch the other RVer unload and setup for the weekend. It's great to know that you'll still be there when the weekend ends and they have to pack it all back in to leave.
