Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife and I spent Thurs to Mon at Palm Creek Rv Resort in Casa Grande with some friends from Canada that purchased a park model home last year. I had no idea we could have so much fun in a weekend. I'm sorry we didn't check rates so that I could tell everyone that might be interested to stay there but what a great place this is. We got our first pickleball lesson from my buddy Dennis and his wife Carol and although the scoring took some time to get straight we really enjoyed it. There are so many different activities to choose from to keep an active lifestyle, I had no idea. We are getting close to buying our fulltime rig so just walking around and chatting with different RV owners was great, I learned a lot of information with just a few stops. Fantastic people to talk to everywhere we turned. Stopped by LaMesa RV to have a real good look at the Lifestyle 38RS and a Heartland Landmark that was very impressive. Sales staff didn't seem too interested in us but it gave us a chance to look at what we wanted without a sales pitch.
Probably the best thing we did was a trip to Eloy AZ. to watch the skydivers and our own flight in the indoor skydiving center next door. Tick that one off the bucket list. Still not sure about jumping from a plane but the wind tunnel was a blast!!
Got a little off topic there but had a great time. Check out Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort if you are in the Phoenix area, we were very impressed with the park cleanliness, great facilities and the fantastic group of RVers that we met. I'm sure we will be going back again soon.
Some old friends like it there and stay every winter. It is not really in the Phoenix metro, but probably close enough for those who want to be in a rural or smaller city area. I know Geeks on Tour have spent some winters there.
Personally we prefer Mesa, where we are right now, which has plenty of nice snowbird campgrounds. Apache Junction, just to the east, and Gold Canyon, even further east, also have nice places. The big snowbird campgrounds have lots of activities and friendly people, not unique to Palm Creek, or Arizona, since you can also find such places in Texas and Florida.
