Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've been fulltime for a week already and just now we are decompressing from a crazy start to this life. We had a plan that went out the window with all the freezing weather in the north east and meeting someone that has made us so happy.
We had the family spend Christmas in the house for last time but when they were to leave the weather cancelled all the flights and travel arrangements. Our window for packing up the house began to get smaller and smaller. We finally got everyone out of the house, after multiple trips to different terminals in horrible conditions. (Once almost smacking up my treasured truck) It was OK, house was closing on Jan.10, we can still do this!
Now the reason we were in Canada in this weather at all was because we were expecting our first grandchild Dec. 27. Hey we figured Dec 27 to Jan 10, spend a little time with our new favourite person in the world and hit the road. Well we waited and tried to do things around the house, and waited and waited until time was running out! Our new bundle of joy finally decided to make his appearance on Jan. 7. This took any thought of packing and moving stuff completely out of our heads and all we did was make funny faces and noises at the little guy for two days.
We did manage to get out of the house on the 10th, get organized over the weekend, with multiple breaks to see the grandbaby and hit the road on Tues. Jan. 14!
We are now in Florida enjoying the weather (even if they say it is colder than normal, it still feels good to us Canadians).
I could not be happier right now. See you on the road!
Scott and Detra congrats, on the new little one and FT'ing. We just had a new little grand Daughter ourselves. Unlike you I don't think we will make it to Florida this year but I still have hope of making it next winter.
