Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was going to wait until we actually had the truck in the driveway to post this, but I am so excited I can't wait!
I had posted a little over a week ago that we were going to look at a truck and about how it wasn't exactly what we initially thought we wanted, asking you all your thoughts on the difference between a crew-cab vs. extended cab. etc. However, after much discussion, we decided to make an offer and yesterday we went and put a deposit on it! We cannot take possession until their loan is paid off and they get the title, but he took the ad down off CraigsList and we have a signed contract! He isn't going to drive it anymore and keep it in his garage until we come to get it!
Here's the specs:
2011 Ford F350 Diesel Dual Rear Wheel 4X4 Extended Cab XLT package. It has a factory installed 5th Wheel prep package and also comes with a Reese Elite Series RE 18K hitch. Also, a factory installed sprayed in bed liner and an Access Roll-Up Tonneau Cover.
It only has 22,000 miles on it! Practically brand new for a diesel!
Bill and I are so happy to be moving along in our plans! Next step is continuing the process of purging the house and getting it ready to sell, which we hope to be early next spring, maybe early to mid-March. Also, we hope to order our 5th Wheel after we get back from visiting my parents in the Tampa area in January - we timed our visit to be at the same time as the RV Show down there! I am really hoping to maybe have the 5er to bring with us to the Spring Rally in TN! If not, you will be seeing our Class C on it's last trip with us!
I can barely contain myself this morning!
Anyways, I know I have said it before, and I am SURE I will say it again, but thanks to all of you here on the forum, and those who have their own blogs that helped me realize that this crazy plan of ours CAN and does work!
I don't know why you can't see the pic! I can see it on my computer, but not on my phone. Weird. It isn't a link to a pic, I copied and pasted it into the body of the message, like you would for an email. Guess that isn't right. I read how to put in a pic from the internet, but this pic is from my personal picture file in my computer. Can you help me get it right? Thanks!
As near as I can tell, one has to have a URL to an internet "location" in order to put in the photos. Even if one clicks on the "Tree" icon above the message area, it still calls for a URL. As for photo sharing, there are a number of sites that do "photo hosting" that are free to get onto. I use Photobucket, but other sites will work as well. I just don't know which ones do "hosting" as I'm not sure that all of them do.
If you were to get on Photobucket, I have a thread up in the Guidelines and Suggestions category of the forum. Or, you can use this link to check out what it takes to do it. Just be sure and be careful of the size of photo you put on a photo hosting site. If it's too big, it really messes up the forum "pages" by forcing the pages to be really wide.
