Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hasn't affected me; but I drove down to the Cedars of Lebanon State Park today and their open with a "No Vacancy" sign. A few of the overnighters in the park I'm at say; the COE's and Federal lands are closed to the citizens. There is about 7 overnight spaces here and they are full this evening; had 5 empty this morning.
If I were traveling I would look at ALLSTAYS.com as they list all the wayside areas; box stores; state; truck stops; overnite rest areas and maybe a few more I overlooked. Hope this helps!!! PIEERE

A hiker had to be rescued today in Arcadia National park after being injured while hiking........the park was closed , the park only had 4 rangers available ....a private rescue team had to be brought in from 80 miles away to take this woman off the mountain.
think before you hike in....

We are not lost in the Woods.....Just Extreme boondocking!!!!!!
We just arrived at USACE Allatoona Lake in GA last Sunday. Spent our first day here locking gates and hanging "closed" signs. Didn't even have time to do paper work. We are able to stay in our camp site, just not work. I know when this is over, our second day on the job will be taking down signs and unlocking gates.
We had to leave Battle Run Campground on Summersville Lake in WV a couple weeks early because of the shut down. We were camp hosts there since Labor Day. We would have liked to have stayed, but were required to leave.
Ann & Hank - hoping you will be taking those "closed" signs down very soon. Just looked at the weather in Rapid City SD, you guys left there at a very good time!!!
We were supposed to be on our way to Florida yesterday (Sunday) heading to a USFS park we are going to work
at for the winter BUT ......the park is closed and we are still stuck here in Michigan!
Got the call last Thursday from the Regional to stay where we are for right now....so needless to say we are not very happy!
Now I am trying to scramble and try to come up with a "plan 2 job" just in case this shutdown lasts a long time.
The DH and I need a paying Host job and those are hard to come by in Florida! :)

I have been trying for years now to check out Allegahny National Forest.....it's closed, looks like we need an alternate plan.......o well, maybe next year.....any ideas around western PA, we will head South after that toward Nashville....
Guess this post is over, with the "re-opening" of the government (87% of which never closed...) but I camped for a week at Walker Lake NV, BLM. There were others there too, and none of them paid, since the BLM employees were furloughed, and weren't coming around to collect.
We checked into Assateague National Seashore the day before the shut down. Got to stay 4 of the 5 days we had booked and then they shut it down. I think they dragged their feet as long as they could and we really appreciated it.
