Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

W2 for rv hookup?

Hello Everyone:

DW and I will be venturing out Early Nov. 2013 as New FT's. Had a workamper offer as a SOLO worker 24hrs/wk with a 6 mos commitment. DW is on SSD and uses a power scooter for longer distances.

Is the issuing of a W2 standard in return for rv hookups? Guess I'm wondering will I be paying taxes on zero income for 6 mos. ?Maybe I'm just misunderstanding this whole thing? Thanks very much.

I've NEVER heard of a W2 or 1099 being issued for the site value. There are very clear rules for providing the site for free without it being counted as part of income. The VERY FIRST question I ask in my email screening of the prospective employer is this question.

there are a few places doing this now! They are using an X amount of Dollars: say 7.50 X 24 hrs X how many weeks and you will have to pay the IRS when you file the 1099 at tax time! I would not do this as i believe the tax % rate is higher than earned income! If you can fingd a way to write it off it may be wothwhile! This park would have to be top notch and offfer me a lot of amenities and perks in exchange for my labor! I like cash! Pieere

A few others may chime in; you could also check with a tax advisor!
