Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We moved to Alabama for a job. Local KOA is a parking lot, didn't look appealing. Found a campground out of town that looked quiet. Caters to dog people. Nice lady. Paid for 30 days. Bad idea.
The bugs here are horrific. There are two RVS here that must be dog show people............one RV has 14 barking little dogs. The other has 10 dogs, standard poodles with puppies. They are in crates outside the RVs and bark constantly. The showers are disgusting... I had to kill two spiders last night to take a shower. We havent seen her once since we got here. She NEVER even drives through to see whats going on in her campground. Its all very strange.
I want to move, even the KOA parking lot sounds appealing at this point. has anyone ever asked for a refund and got it? I know KOA will not refund money. I will not make it three more weeks here......even if I have to lose the money we paid, we have to go....

Most parks will not refund but you never know. All you can do is give it a try. Most are pretty rigid. After staying a few days at the daily rate, I tried to change a few to monthly...no luck. They'd sell me a month but I couldn't use the days I had already paid for at the daily rate as part of the month. Usually once you've paid, you are locked in.
As it sounds like the owner is does not care about happy customers, you probably won't have much leeway with them - as they're probably not trying to avoid bad reviews and such. But you should ask, we have gotten at least a raincheck for needing to cancel a monthly spot before.
Did you pay via credit card by chance? If you feel there is a breach of contract or non-fullfillment of what was promised (ie. 'spotless bathrooms') - you may be able to refute the charge with them after being denied a refund from the campground.
Any maybe calling animal control or some animal rights group to report the crated dogs left constantly unattended? That just doesn't sound humane, poor things.
