Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello everyone! I am so happy to have found this website & forum. I have learned more from here than anywhere else.My husband & I have just recently decided we are going to full time! Just like Howard &Linda we have no past experience but we want a less stressful lifestyle. We have always talked about seeing this great country & are now focusing on this dream. My husband retired last year at 50 and has no ties & I have a kind of portable job, so we think we can make it on the road. He has a secure income, since he's a retired police officer, and I am a nurse. The only thing holding us back is we still have a child in college & he needs a place to live (darn kids). We are set on 2 years til we hit the road! We are big researchers so we will use that time well. Going to rv show in Hershey pa in sept to look at rigs. Leaning towards a 5er.
Hi Judy....
We're in the same boat as you--well, no kids in college, but hopefully same timeframe. Also heading to Hershey in September. Maybe we'll see you there!!
You have found one of the friendliest forum sites that are related to RV's and the RV lifestyle. With two years to your target date, you do have time to research an RV. We spent 2 years ourselves, and we considered both Class A's and fifth wheels. With regard to any RV, keep in mind that the frame, axles, suspension, wheels and tires form the very foundation for the RV. Be sure and do the research to make sure those aspects of the RV are the best you can afford.
Feel free to ask questions as we all tend to learn from each other.
Good luck
Terry
