las vegas in febuary---where would you stay?

it's so exciting to be planning our first trip, and one stop will be vegas in early febuary for 9-10 days visiting family and friends.

we have a 34' carriage cameo with three slides and are hoping to find somewhere with a bit of shade---is it necessary in early febuary?--- and pull through with 50 amp service.

i'd like to use a discount, (military vet (not lifer) or senior, passport america or escapee) or try to keep under (way under if at all possible, lol) 50.00 a night please.

help?!

We stayed at Arizona Charlies. No shade but the cost was less than $30 per night as I recall. That was a few years ago and it has gone up to $32 per day. Weekly rates are cheaper:

Standard Rates:
All rates are for a full hookup and include WiFi, cable and phone
Daily $32 + tax
Weekly $150 back in/ $180 pull thru + tax
Monthly $620 back in/ $650 pull thru + tax

The casino is next to the RV park. The buffet is okay- not great but okay.

I think it is on the Boulder highway. Maybe that is where Boulder came from.

I think the PA discount at the Oasis is a good tip. PA not available in March or April. You won't need shade in Feb. You could also try the Las Vegas RV Resort (my favorite) just down the street from Arizona Charlies (and a bit cheaper too). LV RV Resort regular price $29/dy, 50 amp, paved pull thru etc etc

We stayed at the Oasis once while in Vegas for a conference, quick 10-15 minute cab ride to the Strip. They had a PA discount for 2-3 nights, at $21-26/night. (www.passport-america.com/Campgrounds/CampgroundDetails.aspx). It was nice, had an adult only pool and hot tub, and a family one. Don't remember too many shade trees, but the sites were decent enough and the entire park well kept and nicely landscaped.

We are nowhere close to experts on this area, but Dale stayed one night at the Road Runner RV Park on the SE side of Las Vegas on his trip getting our 5'ver home in April. He said it was quiet, didn't hear the noise from the Interstate and a peaceful place to stay. He did have a Good Sam's discount, not sure if you might get a better rate from Passport America, we joined after that road trip

We just started full timing this month and were in Henderson Nevada - decided to drive about an hour west to Pahrump for a little cooler climate and found a really nice RV Resort with trees, shade, some water and grass! and it is actually cooler in the evenings here although you probably wouldn't need to worry about that in February. The website for this resort is www.lakesidecasinopahrump.com . Has a small casino and café/restaurant, pool and Jacuzzi, and a small lake. They are a Good Sam club but also have very reasonable monthly rates and sometimes gambling discounts (which we ended up with at $325 for the month including electricity). Their other sites off the lake are about $550.00 per month including electricity and the lakeside sites are a little more.

In Las Vegas proper you could check out the Oasis RV resort but they are a little more expensive and then there are the casino resorts which have some really cheap nightly rates if that is what you are interested in. You need to check any reservations soon as it is their prime time and sites are booking up. Good luck and enjoy your stay in Las Vegas.

Hi, my response to the request for info about AZ locations, had some info about Vegas-Pahrump, as well.

Like the post above, I believe Lakeside is the best overall summer spot in the area, and Oasis is the best winter spot, if you want lots to do, with ease of getting around and super nice staff. Two parts of the original section at Oasis offer shade trees, but they don't discount them, and as said above, you won't need shade in Feb. The 400 section to the left as you enter, offers grassy sites. The downside to that is the sprinkler system.

For the past two years since we went full-time, we've spent 9 months at Oasis, each of those years.We lived in our house for 15 years in Vegas, always used Oasis as sort of a "staycation", for a lot of years. Monthly rates for Oasis are much lower than daily, and when we return in Feb, we take a three month extended stay rate, in which you pay up front for a deep discount. For us, that is the preferred location. Oasis also has guard gated and roving security, 24/7.A lot depends on where you want to be in Vegas. Oasis is right off I-15 /215 and much closer to the strip and westside. Location, location, location.

Summer or Winter, Pahrump is a great value if you don't mind having to drive into Vegas for anything extra. But again, Lakeside is the only place offering proper shelter in the hot weather. Nevada Treasure is very nice but way outside of town. The park next to the winery (Don't recall name) is undergoing renovation but wouldn't work in hot weather. It is also all gravel. As with the rest, the price is right.

Despite its size Oasis can fill up. Always good to reserve ahead there. Same true of Lakeside. It is a snowbird/Canadian favorite.
