Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Mount Shasta KOA

OK, I'll do a review... this was a nice park, very conveniently located, within a 15 minute walk to downtown Mount Shasta City (1/2 mile?) Grocery store within walking distance, and all the groovy New Age stuff, as well as auto parts, a computer shop, and everyone was really nice. The park has a nice Laundromat, which I used for 4 loads! Sites were nice, not too crowded during the week, very pleasant!

Downsides: Can't see the mountain from the park, but you can admire the majesty on the walk to town. Also the trains! But that is the entire town of Mount Shasta, not just the RV park. These trains run through town all night, blowing really loud horns! The first night, it was like 4 trains, from maybe 9-10 pm through 6 am.

Mount Shasta is along I-5 from California up to Oregon. Here is a video of Mount Shasta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg4D8nG1Vfw

Two other places to stay...Lake Siskiyou RV Park just a few miles west of Mt. Shasta and Friendly RV Park just north in Weed.

Good info! I also thought of Castle Crags, and Lake Shasta, but needed to do laundry, and it was hot enough to worry about the dog, so I wanted hook ups to run the air conditioner. But next time, for sure!
