Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Watching the animals in the Zoo.

We've been at the same park for about a week, watching other campers is our favorite passtime (Watching the animals in the Zoo), it will never cease to amaze me what people go thru trying to park-I had one old gal in a Class C back into the same space we were in, darn near took out my toad, then I told her she needed to pull down a little farther, then start her turn, so she puilled down about 10 feet, and backed into the picnic table, thus saving the side of my RV.

I already posted about the 10pm camper, first time backing in, went from the dealer to the park.no

Yesterday we ran into a 2014 Monoco, about $250,000, first time out, park had no sewer at the site, you dump as you leave, he set up and Imwatched him as he held the sewer hose trying to find a place to stick it ( I almost told him-NO SEWER-but was having to much fun) took him 3 hours to get set up,elect. & water.

Anyway he stayed for 4 days and panic set in-what do I do with the black waste ? I told him about the dump but he said it was to much trouble because it was so narrow. I had a nature call about 2am and when I looked out the door, he was dumping on the lawn, I called security and they ejected him from the park (at 2:30am) lot's of screaming and yelling.

Having a ball, hope you are too.

Larry & Rita

Wow! They were animals!  How ignorant is that??  Good for you.....

We had some dealer-to-campground people this weekend also.  Poor Brian the owner, escorted them to their site, then they start asking questions, like what do we do with this hose and how do we work the air conditioner............really?  Figure it out BEFORE you go camping!! Ish.

today I looked over to where the red Monoco was and low and behold there he was.
Come to find out he could not sleep and was packing to leave this morning., security was just there to check out what was going on at 2am. and the lights i assumed were him leaving was security.
How depressing., thought I had a good story.

Listen up folks! We were all first-timers once and kind people helped us at first. That added to all our research on this and other forums.

We will not intrude on others who don't want help but we will gladly "pass it on" every time we see someone struggling. Makes me cranky to read posts about people watching newbies struggle and not at least offer to help! There's enough to laugh at WITH us "experienced" RV'ers doing dumb things that we don't have to pick on Newbies! Welcome them to our family.

Absolutely report someone dumping anywhere inappropriate.

We get quite a few people here each week either with a a rented RV or a new one on their first trip and we help them all.

This forum is known for it's helpfulness and great people. If this post of mine is considered flaming I'm sorry but it needs to be said!

oh my grandpalarry, you'll have a hey day when it's our turn; can't imagine how many zooish tribulations are in our total newbs future! Comedy hour here we come, but feels so far away at the moment we might be too aged to go! At least hopefully I'll learn some things not to do here, if I can just remember them when the time comes!

Sherry, Thanks &  bless you, I'm counting on it! Pay it forward wherever and whenever you can has always been our motto and God bless all you angels in my future!

Well, folks, we've been doing this RV thing for about a year and we still feel like newbies. Every time I back that fifth wheel into a spot, I'm feeling my way through the experience. Doing lots better than a year ago. But, hey, that 36 foot Teton and F-450 are too much like a computer: they do what I tell them to do, not necessarily what I want them to do. The saving grace? A beloved wife who guides me through the adventure. She's unsure of herself, too. But together we get the job done.

I was not laughing when early in the morning of day one I helped him set up, I spent about 2 hours--didn't have to,just did it because I was a newbee and no one gave me a second look.

I cant do it, Ill be the first to admit it.

That gives me the right to poke a little fun, newbies know they are newbies and people are watching them!  We actually had a guy come over and ask if we were watching him....yes, yes we were! Then we had a beer! All good.

We had a club meeting show up-one at a time and when they saw one of thier friends comming in they would all grab thier lawn chairs and rush over to watch the show, I laughed until I cried.

Looked like the Keystone Cops.

They would clap and laugh wave and generally having a ball, I never did find out the name of the club, looked like a fun group.

Larry,

Good for you! You have to find out the name of that club, we might all want to join. We have club meetings here too and they laugh and help each other! It's fun to see. I can only imagine what they think when we're trying to back this huge thing in at a 90 degree angle with trees and rocks around.

Boat launching ramps at lakes and rivers can be entertaining as well.
