Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
...I've suffered from this insatiable, incurable case of wanderlust. Thru the years I thought perhaps one morning I'd just wake up to find that it had gone away. Nope! I just rounded the track for the 49th time last week and, yup, it's stronger than ever!
So big thanks to all you wonderful folks, especially Howard and Lynda. This website & forum are terrific! And deeply inspiring.
My girlfriend & I met two years ago and quickly found one of our strongest bonds to be a shared love of the road and exploring. We are never happier than when we're out hiking or seeing new things. We both have specific goals for our eventual semi-full-time lifestyle. I want to see all our National Parks and she wants to visit all the major league ballparks across the country. (I know, maybe a bit of role reversal, but we're good with it).
Last summer we had the good fortune of having a 1991 Fleetwood Jamboree Rallye fall into our laps and, voila, we were RVers! So now we've had the opportunity to road-test our desires and found that all we want to do is more traveling! We've been to MDI, Maine (twice), New Hampshire (twice), Washington DC and many other places in our coach and absolutely love it. Between us we have 5 kids, so we've made some great and lasting memories already in the short 10 months we've owned it.
Semi-full-timing won't be a reality for us for several years to come and we're just fine with that. We've still got a family to raise. So for now we're content to get out when we can and enjoy the RV lifestyle as much as we can. The remainder of the summer has us going back to MDI, P-town Mass, Vermont, and Mt. Monadnock to hike the summit (for the 2nd time).
Thanks again to all you great folks who post here. Good stuff! And remember, in the words of Luca Bloom, "No matter where you go, there you are." :)
Mt. Monadnock is a Great Hike.......you should try Mt greylock...the CCC lodge at the top now has a restaurant in it and it make for one of the most spectacular dinners with a view!!!! and its only about another hour from Monadnock!!!
I wonder New England alot....at the moment I am in the Kennebunkport/Arundel Maine area. love this area so much!!!!!!

Congratulations on finding what you love to do at only 49. We just started out a couple of years ago to enjoy this lifestyle on a part-time basis and we are 20 age years ahead of you. My hubby's mom has always said, "go while you can". That's pretty good advice, and we have been taking off on 3 and 4 week-long journeys having a bunch of fun. Enjoy yourselves! Pk
