Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Help needed! My hot water heater is not working up to par. I get slightly warm water but no where near hot. Just not sure what to look for or how to proceed. Sure hope the whole unit does not need replacing
Here is what I have;
Atwood 6 gallon mfg 5/2006
6 gallon capacity electric/gas fired
8,000 BTU
Model GC6AA-10E
Any suggestions appreciated
Mike

If you have an outside shower, make sure the faucet knobs are turned off and not just the button the shower head. This will cause the hot and cold to mix and you end up luke warm.
Phil
ps: same goes for the inside shower.

Gene; Per your suggestion I did check the bypass and it is set correctly.
Phil; I will check both showers and run it through it's paces and see.
BearII;
Hmmm not even sure if or where the tstat is located. Will investigate that as well. Any suggestions where to look other that the obvious exterior service area?
Thanks All!!!

Exterior service area......open it , there will be a square looking box in the center area of the heater facing you in the center is a red or white dial with markings on it set the arrow in the middle and then move it about a 1/4 inch more that should be about 115 degrees
