Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Very new to these forums, like today.  We don't even have a TT yet, but plan on buying before the end of the year. I have read almost every forum here and sometime I am edgy and sometime seem to "cannot wait".  Never done any traveling with a RV or camping. 

 

Both hubby and I will be retired by next March. We have a small farm and exibit show animals nationally.  This is the reason we want a TT and not a 5th. wheel. We can attach our alum. topper to the pickup bed and haul the show animals and pull the TT for us.

 

We don't know one single thing about buying or living in a TT. Hubby has much experience pulling trailers, we have a 26' Livestock trailer.  We won't be going full time as that does not appeal to us, but we like the idea of RV'ing. 

 

Our CPA has advised us that we can write off a new truck and TT if we travel to these national livestock shows.  I now own a 2002 Ford Diesel Super Duty 7.3.  We will be buying new next year. 

 

 

I know this is long and I am just muttering, but found this website and can truly say if we have a question, I am sure we can find answers here. Great site with lovely people.

Patricia and Roland,

First of all, welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  Well, at least as active participants instead of as a lurker.  No doubt, you have probably noticed that there is a lot of folks here with lots of knowledge.

While the travel trailer isn't a bad idea, you might also look into the option of one of the stock trailers with living quarters.  Of course, I know nothing of your financial situation as to what you could afford, so this might be more expensive than doing the traveling the way you are planning.  The link below is to just one brand of those kinds of trailers.
