Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
This should keep you busy for a bit , I'm not sure on your price point so I kept my selection to newer mid to upper end startershttp://nh.craigslist.org/rvs/3831752766.html
This one below comes with the truck and is right up your ally for short money!!!!!
we do this all the time over on the horse boards, put out what we're looking for and those so inclined find candidates and we all have a grand time discussing them and why or why not they might be suitable.
if this is normal here hurray!! if not no biggie.
but just in case----
we're going to be ready to buy in three weeks, so the six months of intense research is going to have to be put to some use soon.
we have two real options we think and have only a few no budge requirements---fully enclosed bathroom and slides, the more the better.
floorplans and storage can be dealt with individually--though i quite like a toy hauler so i can have a mudroom!
here's the basics anyway
1) stay withing the weight confines of the 2001 F-350 cc dually creampuff we have with under 50000 original miles.
that puts us into 10000 lbs unit unloaded.
if we could get a newish fiver with some slides and an enclosed bath room we'd be happy. would probably have to be ultra lite, but we assume we wouldn't keep this trailer for as long if it were bigger and more heavy duty.
2) go big right off the bat and trade the truck in for something in the 36' range with triple or quad slides, enclosed bathroom and somewhat more heavy duty as opposed to an ultra lite.
dh would prefer an outdoor kitchen, i require seating facing the tv and am willing to do a bit of remodeling. we'll need space for our own washer, as that would be best for dh's immune system.
typing this makes me feel inclined to just go big from the start----we've camped enough to know we like our space!
we intend to leave vermont the weekend of the 22 of june and head to the biggest rv lots we can find. our house will have closed and we'll be living in our teeny tiny camper until we get something more suitable.
and will also look at a private sale too.
thanks if you want to play find the fiver with me, lol!
I will search southern maine, upstate Ny and anything within a 2 hr drive of you......see what comes up........that truck package at the bottom was real nice!!! for the price point

thanks so much-----i wish that was a price point i was comfortable with right now, but we aim to stay at around half that. it'll make the search that much more challenging won't it?!
Mike -- sorry for this quick question here as it gets a little off topic....
You seem to be the resident CL expert. Is there a way to do a search in all US states rather than each state individually? Let's say there was a specific model I was looking for and was willing to go anywhere in the US to buy it, is there an easy way to search for that on Craigslist?
Thanks!

the only way I know to do more than 1 area at a time is to open more windows. Craigslist does not allow national searching or posting , there are people who do posting by mass posts with a bot.
the other problem with doing a national search is if it is outside of your area and you have no one to inspect it or secure it for you ,these are mostly private sales.........I myself pick several low market areas that I either know someone in or can get to within reason quickly knowing I am going to make the purchase.....if the seller wants a deposit I do it thru a bank escrow that is local to them ....NEVER Asume the person you are dealing with is not trying to scam you.....when you get a phone number and address......cross reference the phone number by directory assistance and reverse lookup online.....take the address and use google earth and zoom in....sometimes you will get lucky and see the unit in there yard!!!
another method would be to see if anyone on one of the forums is close enough to stop for you and do a walk thru , I do several of these a year for people....have done 2 for Dreamers here that they have bought afterwards.....
Remember depending on what your buying you can travel amtrak cheap......I go from NH to southern Fla for 168.00 to pick up units or shop!!

Also add to that (I think it was you who suggested this in a different thread) that I can always hire a certified RV technician from a nearby RV service station to do an inspection.
