Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So fellow RV Dreamers, I know I can rely on you to give good advice, so here it goes;
A friend in Portland, OR area is looking at a 1997 Airbus, 31' with 20,000 miles on it. She has never RVed and would be traveling by herself as her husband will not go with her. She would like an RV to travel with her dogs as she is a breeder and travels to shows.
Would any one be able to recommend a dealership or someone in the Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA area that could look it over for her. She would gladly pay for a trustworthy, knowledgeable person to advise her.
Also, I have never heard of an Airbus, does anyone know anything about them?
You can email me privately if you prefer in your response. Thank, in advance for all the recommendations I know I will receive.
On another note, we are RETIRED!!!!!! Heading west on 3 June for a rally in Santa Fe!! Hope to see some RV Dreamers on the road. We are still waiting for the house to sell, but going on this short trip as our gift to ourselves.
Oops, I tried to post the pictures that she sent me. It looked like it worked when I created the post. Also another mis-communication from her; the RV is in NJ! Opposite coast! I recommended she contact Guanty RV in Oregon, isn't that the one that Linda and Howard worked with on a Rally?
I'm sorry I can't make any dealer recommendations, but I do want to add some things from a different aspect. If she is going to be buying something of that age, I'd recommend she have her own qualified tech going over it with a fine tooth comb before she does any traveling. Also, is she handy? If she is gone for long periods of time, she may need to make minor repairs here and there.
Yes, we did recommend that she not purchase due to age, and the distance away from her. We recommend she look for something in her area where she can have a reliable RV Mechanic review it first before she buys.

I completely agree with you. Is there a particular reason she is looking at something of that vintage?
