Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

would like to hear from Trilogy owners

My how plans for buying an RV change! confuse

We would appreciate hearing from Trilogy owners: the good, the bad and the ugly.

I have read previous posts on them, but they are a few months old, and would like to hear how the traveling is and living in the Trilogy is for you owners.

We have changed our focus from the DRV to the Trilogy, due to floor plan and cost. We have sights on a 2014 3650RL . biggrin

Thanks in advance Dreamers.

Hi Linda,

We purchased the 3650RL on 4/2/13 and have been full-timing for less than a month now. Your likes and wishes may be different than ours. Our frustrations were primarily from Dealer PDI or lack of it. It appears to be because they are new units and the Dealers and their service people don't know the units to inform you or take care of minor problems. There is a Forest River Dynamax Trilogy forum and I've posted on there quite a bit. Recommend you look there (Google) for other's comments as there are a few, mostly positive except for dealers. You might also look at my full-timing for 7 days thread on here as well.

The quality, comfort/finishes/style are awesome (for us). We had a Big Country 5th wheel with a split bath before and WE Do miss that bath. We have a cat, so the litter box only fits in the bathroom. It's a little small as is our shower but its workable. I love the storage opposite the bathroom. I've never been a fan of two doors into a bathroom although we've never had one before and this unit confirms it. There's almost nowhere to hang a towel rod or TP Holder. We do appreciate the solid wood cabinetry.

Some people have commented about the recessed cooktop but I've found no issues with that. My pots fit there just fine and the gas volume (I need to read the manual) seems way better than normal RV cooktops.

We (well, Me) love, love, love the pantry. I was able to plug in my Breville toaster/convection oven on the sliding appliance drawer and I've used it a LOT including right now while dinner is cooking. For me, just one oven/microwave isn't quite enough when preparing dinner, I tend to use both.

We deleted the great big heavy leather recliners and used our euro chair and DH's favorite rocking office chair which we slide to desk when using laptop and printer. (Haven't quite figured out setting up a wireless network in here yet). You'll notice those big recliners are heavy and no room for a table. The countertop space is good but I sometimes wish we had bought the larger unit (I'm missing my dream kitchen in our S&B still) but it's really not an issue.

Love the LED lights inside and out. Love the leather couch. The 3850's had - I THINK- space to access both the living room and Bdrm TV's for components, the 3650 does not! The 3850 has a huge basement and the 3650 is generous. Love the residential refrigerator/freezer. Love the gel coat paint over full body paint. Love the slide out toppers and double awnings, love the double awnings with lights. Love the high living ceilings and two ceiling, 3-speed fans. AC furnace/heat pump/furnace Loud. Bdrm is tight if two in it at a time. I wish they had hung the closet rod about 2" forward as large hangers tilt (regular do fine). Who needs shoe storage behind clothes? They fall off when you travel. We reinforced the hanging rod and recommend you do same no matter what unit you buy. Our hosts next door have a beautiful 41 Ft Heartland Landmark and I love their kitchen, their 4th slide in the bdrm but I don't love their finishes as much as ours.

We do have a minor problem with the black tank flush hose and there is a leak. Should have been caught & fixed in the PDI. One of the steps to enter unit is missing welded bolt and remote door lock inconsistent as is Lippert Remote awning/leveler control. Lights over entertainment system cross wired. Taking it for warranty work in a week or so.

The overhead cabinets are huge and even with my over packing I haven't filled everything up here! Our neighbor hosts laughed when we pulled in here and Jesse started unloading the basement storage into our provided shed! They had all done the same, overloaded when they started.

We needed a longer bungee cord to keep desk drawer (great storage in drawer) closed while traveling. Smaller ones worked well with drawers as pot drawer under cooktop is heavy. (Love the big pot drawer!). Make sure you get the refrigerator lock for residential refrigerator. Make sure you know where 97 gal propane tank mechanical valve "on lever" is underneath the rig in addition to the electrical filling cut off switch kin the same compartment w/dump valve & propane filling connection.

Never enough outlets in any rig we've ever had.

Please feel free to PM me for more specifics.

Sherry

Thank you so much Sherry!
I will PM you with a question.

We just may have more than 1 cat - we might have 3 plus a dog when we go! Yikes!
So, what did you end up doing with the toilet paper? LOL.

This is very valuable feedback for us. Again, thanks.

Ann4Now,

We put the roll on a perfect little space behind the lid. Should be fine if all cats use the same litter box. The Dyson works great for picking up stray litter.

If we hung the holder on the wall next to the sink we felt it would get wet after we washed our hands and reached for a towel. 😝 However, to the left of the medicine cabinet my telescoping magnifying mirror mounted just fine. Also works as a hand towel rack - so that works for us.

WE DID IT!

We are the proud owners of a 2014 Trilogy 3650RL, in silver/white/black, that is on order, not yet in our driveway, but should be in several weeks! We are very excited, happy and relieved to get this part of our fulltimer journey done.

Thanks Sherry for your help, and to all the Dreamers who have supported this process!

Another year and God willing, we will be on our journey!
