Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Looking for a lady who wants to travel

I am a full time RVer living in a 35 foot fifth wheel with two slides pulled by a Dodge 2005 Ram 3500 4 x 4 with a 6 speed manual transmission and a Hillsboro Aluminum Bed. That was for the Gear Heads out there. I travel with two very spoiled Dachshund boys; Danny and Scrotum.

My first rig was purchased in 1995 and have been mostly on the road since. This is my fourth rig over the years. I am in New Mexico for the summer months having work on the truck and on me. The plan is to leave here in the fall for Quartzsite and Southern California for the winter. Over the years have been a Workamper, worked in lots RV parks and done a lot of volunteering at different museums. These days I want to travel and be a tourist rather than work all the time.

The summer run is now being planned starting at either Quartzsite or at the BLM Long Term Visitor Area in Holtville, California. This will be a big loop coming back to the Southwest for the winter. The run will be: CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, ND, MN, IA, KS, OK, TX, NM, AZ.

I am looking for a short, slim, brunette lady 45 to 55 who does not smoke, drink, use drugs or have mental health issues. I am in need of adult supervision at times, like most old men, and someone who can make me laugh. Must like spoiled dogs and help with navigation, prepping to go, set up when stopped, help clean and cook a bit.

A blog has been started of the plans for the 2013-14 Adventure Route that will list the route, most of the stops, and a rough, very rough, time schedule. I want to enjoy most of the national, state, county, city parks as well as National Forest and more. I do primitive or boondocking the majority of time. My rig is set up with 300 watts of solar and can stay out for two weeks before dumping and loading water. It is rare for me to stop at a commercial park. Do Elks lodges and military bases at times. If you are interested I will send a link to the blog.

I am an active ham radio operator who plan to stop in areas that are rare counties, or grid zones for hams across the world to add to their logs. I did that last summer to have a great time handing out contacts to some very rare places.

My traveling is S L O W. After all these years I have finally learned some things; These are my rules.

I do not drive one day, stop, get up the next morning to drive again. The stop has to be 2 or 3 days.

No more than 300 miles per day but most have been 200 to 250 and some.......YES.....50 miles.

I leave between 8 and 9 in the morning after eating breakfast. I DO NOT stop for fast food at all. Okay will stop for a cup of coffee when getting fuel.

Always be stopped long before it gets dark. I have stopped in the dark once and never will do it again.

If the weather is bad stay another night or more. That is rain, high wind, snow........NOT SNOW...flooding and so on.

So that is it . I am really hoping to find a lovely lady who wants to experience all of these Western States and share my life as a nomad.

( Glad to send photos of the rig and the boys. What? Me too? Of course!)

Bruce

Bruce....Wow, welcome to the Forum, I am sure you know but there are also some single forums out there that cater to people like yourself , it might be another good way to get your message out. After reading your post I must admit I am a bit confused as to what role this companion is expected to play, is it more of a employee, employer relationship? If not you might want to word things differently because it does read more like a job than an equal traveling partner....either way, welcome and good luck......

I have to agree with Genecop... this totally reads like a job posting for a long term live in 'companion' & maid. It did give me a chuckle however, as I wasn't quite sure if this was a joke or not.

Traveling with a partner requires openness to incorporating a second person into the household, and allowing space to also make it her adventure too. Instead of advertising what qualities and job roles you seek fulfilled, how about instead rephrasing it to what you offer as a travel & life partner?

I'm with Gene and Cherie! Sure you have laid out YOUR plans, YOUR travel schedule, YOUR interests laid out and you want a fit woman much younger than you to fit in with all your desires?!?!?!? What have you been smoking? 😂

Sounds like a lot of posts on Match.com. Maybe you should try there?

Bet you guys and gals are sitting out there reading this particular thread and laughing yourselves silly!

Well I guess it's okay for young man to dream, but a older man not to.
Lets start a essay and you write one for him! I know there's some of
you that write for blogs and such. A great love story on a blog would be good.
Also you have what he wants, some one!
Because I actually don't think he's meaning this in a bad way, I hope..
I know Ladies have a great way of changing what a man wants any way, in a good way!
Not every one can "right" what they mean and mean what they "write"!

Though of some one lol at this.. Just help!
This is just my righten, written, writing! Oh well..

There are plenty of single companions out here......I guess a person should look in the right place....(definition is subjective)

During winter Quarters when your in the sunshine in a large park (age appropriate) where mingling, dances and dinners bring everyone together.

Placing an ad online worries me , would you be willing if things didnt work out to return them to where the journey started out if things didnt work out ?

Would you be willing to take care of this person if an event occurred during your travels due to illness or financial reasons.

are you ready in the beginning to accept that alot of adjusting is going to have to happen in the beginning as to individual tastes and thoughts are going to present themselves and sometimes it will become a problem

Are you ready to admit to yourself that your RV(home) will now be 50% someone else's and understand the security that goes along with that.

this person will become half of you, whether its a friendship or other and everything you expect for yourself and then some will have to be given.

You have to love yourself and be willing to share what you have to offer....not expect or have demands of the other.

and most of all be ready to share a dream that could be compromised by 2 different minds.

Good luck and take this to heart.......................We all learn these in life the hard way....life will bring 2 together when you search within yourself, for yourself to become complete....only then will sharing be defined
