Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Do most of you find it ok with the sizes of them and making through say 2wks of supplies in them to get by before having to go shopping??? Or you you have a smaller fridge in the basemant to offset with??? Thank you for your response. Chris and Cheri.

Safe travels to all, Take each day as a gift for that is truly what it is.
We have a 4-door fridge/freezer in the 5th wheel. I have not been able to go for 2 weeks without getting groceries of some kind. I have to go at least once a week, sometimes 2x/week, depending on what we're eating.
We leans towards a whole foods plant based diet, so a lot of perishable fruits & veggies. We can generally do about 7-10 days without needing to restock if we shop for those that will last longer. If we need to go longer, we can also supplement with non-perishables - like canned beans, rice, soups, etc. But our preference is to always have fresh stuff onboard in we can.
Obviously, if you prefer a lot of meat in your diet, you will probably need more fridge/freeze storage area than we do. Ours is about 7 cu sq ft, and quite roomy for our needs.
I think Dave & Diane have it right........you would really have to sit down and look at your menu.....your diet....and leftovers.
I know I prefer my Veggies fresh, same with fish and poultry....and at the same time I've never been in a position that I was'nt going to pass the grocery store at least once during the week.
planning 2 weeks out seems difficult to me other than keeping staple supplies in stock.......I gotta have them specials!!!!!

We have the 4 door refer/freezer, we also have a small box freezer in the basement. We are not on the move yet, so only a few mins from the store. I think we could go two weeks just fine with the space we have now. There are only the two of us and I cook pretty much every meal we eat. We shop once a week, but find we are spending much less since we moved into the RV full time, on average we spend around $80 a week. I cook a meal with the intention of freezing half, I use ziplock bags when I can (saves room) The basement freezer can hold quite a lot really.
It will obviously depend on your diet as Cherie stated, but we are happy with the space we have.
