New website that helps RVers find great activities around the US

Hi there RVers,

I wanted to let you all know about a newly launched website called LiveLifeLocal.com that's designed to help find great things to do along your RV travels.

You can find thousands of ideas for places to go and things to do on the site, and it features several RV experts that share their insider knowledge of RV travel. This roster of experts includes Brad Herzog, author of three critically acclaimed travel memoirs about his RV exploration, and Nicholas Upton, who writes for numerous publications on the subject of RV travel.

Beyond the ideas, articles and tips that you'll find on the site, you can also add activities of your own and share them with your friends through Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. The site also allows you to create "collections" of activities so you can plan things to do on your trip, or recommend activities to your friends. Site gives RV owners ideas and tips for getting the most out of their vehicle

Safeco Insurance today announced the redesign of LiveLifeLocal.com, a website designed to inspire RV enthusiasts (along with boaters, motorcyclists and road-trippers) with thousands of ideas for places to go and things to do with their favorite vehicles.

“Nobody buys an RV to simply keep it in the driveway,” said Matt Nickerson, president, Safeco Insurance. “RVs are the gateway to a lifestyle that allows people to get out and do the things they love. LiveLifeLocal connects people who are passionate about their vehicle and the life it provides with the activities, resources and network to get the most out of them.”

The site features a new photography-heavy format and enhanced content that encourage users to explore everything they can do with their vehicle of choice. This may come in the form of a scenic highway, a campground with all the right hook ups for an RV or great vistas and unique sites to stop at during the family’s next road trip.

To further enhance the user-experience, LiveLifeLocal has partnered with several experts to showcase their insider knowledge of these vehicles and lifestyles. This roster of lifestyle experts includes authors like Brad Herzog, road trip aficionado and author of multiple books, including Turn Left at the Trojan Horse and Small World: A Microcosmic Journey. These partnerships will give users access to tips, featured activities and regular blog posts from the folks who have the inside scoop on it all.

Some significant site developments include:

This one will take some more time on my part before I would sign off on it and say it was anything legitimate, other than being a site "produced" by a commercial business. The few sites I checked out while on break at work certainly didn't have much information about the places they highlighted.

In addition, when I first went onto the site, it asked me if I wished to "share" my "location." To me, even if it is a normal thing, sends up little red flags of caution. Therefore, until I research this more, I advise everyone to be very cautious with using the site featured in the first post.

On closer examination, I've determined that while there may be some "articles" and locations of interest to our forum participants, this posting links to a website that has active links to Safeco Insurance. Thus, that makes the whole thing a commercial venture, and because of that, if it gets to stay on the forums, it will have to be in the "Classified" section of the forums.

As I haven't the time to "explore" every link on the website that is linked in the original post, I feel that I must caution everyone about utilizing this site.

Thanks Terry & Jo; you are on your toes on this one. For every one's sake I hope it is legitimate. I believe I've seen Safeco Ins. advertised some place before.Caution is the Word.

Safeco Insurance is the largest insurance company here in the Pacific Northwest. They have a very good reputation in the greater Seattle area. They are the namesake of "Safeco Field" the home of the Seattle Mariners. They sponsor many community events and are active as a business in making our area a better place to live.
