Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV Parks Review

Just curious about how many use RV Parks Review, I do. Do you regularly post? Seems like many of the reviews are old?

I don't use it to often, I would however like to check it out more. I do like RV service reviews, not sure if it's the same hosts....

I have posted on every campground we have camped in. I think it is important that we all post comments to help our fellow campers make decisions on where to camp. All the campground should be up-dated in a timely manner so as things change in that campground we are all made aware of them.

I could not agree more, RV Service reviews is another site we should all help in keeping current...

I also post on every campground we stay in, although I'm a little behind for this year. Most of the time, the reviews have been spot on. We have been led astray a few times especially if the reviews are older.

we also use it a lot. I do try and post a review for the places we stay most of the time but if a park has a lot of recent reviews that I am in agreement with I'll just skip adding mine.

I use them for every trip and every night. I've even added a park or two that weren't on the site. Over the period of three winters, I've only had one disappointment. An excellent source! Give it a try...

We are having our awning fixed this week in Alexandria Louisiana. I will post a review on RV Service review when they have completed the work.

I use it and post on it.

The one thing I do when looking at the reviews is to look for RV Parks/Campgrounds with more good reviews then bad reviews. If you pay attention to the reviews you'll get a feel for how your stay will be at the facility. Many of the negative reviews come from RVers not willing to follow the rules. Dog issues, children issue, noise/curfew issues, neighbor problems...etc. These type of reviews I ignore. Staff problems, dirty bathrooms, unkept grounds, lots of long term residents, stuff piled around the RVs or other negative issues will keep me away from the park.

So far every RV Park/Campground I've gone to based upon the reviews has been exactly what I expected or better.

They have a volunteer staff of experienced RVers who look at the reviews before they are posted to insure that they meet simple rules and guidelines. Their forum has exceptionally few complaints about how someone's review was handled. I suspect that is part of the reason that the information that is posted is helpful us to make a decision to stay, or not, at a CG.

And, occassionally you can get a chuckle out of some on the reviews.  I recently read one where a reviewer said: "The weather was really lousy which contributed to this bad review."  I suspect that makes a campground owner want to pull their hair out.  smile

Great site!  It is the first reference I go to when looking for a place to stay.  As others have stated it is usually spot on with the comments.

it is my number one source for park stays, and over the last two years of fulltiming it has failed me only once (and I left a review to counter the original claims)

We look at rvparkreviews for each place we plan to stay. It's a great resource. We've posted a review for most places we've stayed.

OK, we're guilty of not posting. However, just found that site late last year, used it for Dale's recent drive from Rolling Retreats in OK to our home in Western WA as he brought our 5v'er home. He laughingly called me "mission control" as I used that site and allstays.com each afternoon when he would call me and tell me where he was, how much longer he wanted to drive and then I would check the web sites, see what looked like a reasonable place for a one night stop, then call a campground or two to see if they had room, check rates, etc. The site was great, very useful.
So, yes, I'll post reviews but it will probably be after we get the house on the market, hopefully within the next 2 weeks. We've been "running at full speed" since he got home trying to finalize all the things our real estate agent wanted us to do before we list the house.

We use it all the time and leave reviews as well. In fact if we call a campground to make a reservation and there has been a questionable write up we will ask about the campground about the issue. Whether we stay with them or not will depend on the explanation they give .

I rely on it for the best info on where to park. It is usually "spot on". Guess it's about time to start helping with reviews. PK

I use it to locate parks along the way that I might want to stop at. Sometimes I identify a couple which might work and then depending on where I am when I want to stop I pick the next one coming up. I post parks where I do stop. In fact I'm one behind. I do wish some of the had more recent reviews.

A techy aside about website usernames and passwords.

With everything now needing a username and password we found Lastpass, https://lastpass.com/ , useful for $12 a year.  We use one master password, a strong one, and store all those username and password combinations in it.  We can then get to them on our laptops, our phones and our tablets.  This also keeps you from using the same password everywhere, which the hackers love.  Right now Diane is in California dealing with a family situation using only her 10" Android tablet (with a Bluetooth keyboard) and I am in Washington state visiting my mother, but both of us can log on to websites.  When we only had Windows machines we used the free program Password Corral, http://www.cygnusproductions.com/freeware/pc.asp , and would email each other the encrypted password file when we made changes.  But with smartphones and tablets we had move to something else.

Well I signed up, and posted a few reviews. Then life took over and we changed my email address and I can't remember my password. Haven't been able to get a reply to help me. If I try to re-register, it says the username and password are already taken. I'll figure it out its just operator error!

Bill, that's brilliant thanks (again!). We started a small notebook with all our passwords that we could remember before we left but of course RVPark Reviews wasn't in it.

Thanks,
Sherry

Thanks Bill, we will definitely check this out. DH has a passpack application, but of course, I don't have that on my laptop and it's not on any of our cell phones. You would have laughed if you could have seen us trying to recall the password for one of our credit card processing apps on his cell phone. We were looking for something a little better than what we have today!!

Sherry>  Here is the RV Park Reviews link for password recovery site:  http://www.rvparkreviews.com/invboard/index.php?act=Reg&CODE=10    If you can't remember your login names then you will not be able to use this link.

If you can remember as many of the parks as you can that you reviewed and provide that info it may  be possible to get your login ID by emailing the administrator at   master@rvparkreviews.com

Failing that, you will have to re-register, but none of the previous reviews you did will appear under the new login ID.

Just wanted to add that in planning what will now be our 4th cross country & back trip, we will rely primarily on RV Park Reviews. Three things to consider, first, be sure to read several of the reviews for places you consider, as different folks have different requirements. I am sometimes amazed how my impressions differ from what was said by others. Second, the ability to use the "nearby" feature. As an example, I found myself wanting to stop in an area in SC that had no positive reviewed CG's, used that feature to locate a great place in a town 3 mi off the interstate, and have seen my review help others get value in that area when traveling through. Third, only parks that have been reviewed by users will show up, so it can't take the place of a directory as such, but I find the peer reviews to be what matters. Never had a bad result.

TXRVr,

Thanks,
I've done all of that. When I try and get a password, says no one registered by that email address. When I try & re-register it says that email address is already taken. Took your advice and emailed master. Think I did that once before but may have sent to administrator.

Hope I get a response this time.

Sherry

Finally yesterday I received a reply from the admin after I sent another email, saying this was my fourth - he/she said they never received any others from me- who helped me get on and reset my password.

We rely a lot on those reviews so now we can share.
